Brah no offense, but this kind of hyper-sensitive over-aggressive attitude you've been rocking on full display ITT is precisely the non-chill vibe that turns every one off about PLers and makes people make threads like this.

You can live in fantasy land and say it never happens if you want I guess, but any gym goer in the world has experience with these types of soft kunts and it seems to me you're just triggered that PLs are getting chit on ITT. If it doesn't apply to you brah, congrats. If it doesn't apply to anyone in your circle, congrats. Doesn't make it false though brah.
I've spent a lot of time in gyms over the years and have never seen anything remotely resembling this type of fukkery. Get off of Reddit, out of your mother's basement, and go actually lift. I promise the real world is not nearly as scary as you think it is...

You should spend more time being a guinea pig in the global acne institute so they can develope a cure for cystic acne, bro. At least you wouldn’t be a useless piss smelling dork/ power lifter

The amount of absolutely pissening machismo in the gym is unbelievable here boyo. These people are phucking professional gym haters. Sometimes I really vibe with the competitive alpha energy and sometimes dudes will just be kunts for the sake of. Esp. to women in all honesty (no feminism). I may be totally out of touch about the game in the US-- but I lifted in SF last time I was in town (pre-lockdown) and it was a gym largely for casuals that was just near my hotel and there was some bullchit machismo from some desk jockey in the squat rack as well.

I think people are just on edge at the gym because they feel out of their element and so they get a little static-y. Obviously no hate on the PL community writ large, as I said in my first post I actually kind of admire the sport.

honestly I can't recall anything like it either, maybe we are living in fantasy land who knows

every powerlifter i've met has been more than accommodating in terms of working in. literally never have had or seen a "powerlifter" storm up to me and ask how many sets they have left and stare at me the whole time. They'll usually just leave their gymbag where I am and do some other chit like warm-up or foam roll. or i'll be like you can work in with me if you want.

conversely, this one time this "non-powerlifter" sorta angrily and annoyed asked me how many sets I had left and sort of just stared at me doing nothing while sighing pretty angrily for the next 15 minutes. Didn't really bother me tho and it's just one of those "cool story brah" moments and didn't really think much of it afterwards.

I also recall this one "bodybuilder" that was taking up 3 machines for a full 10-15 minutes. I went on one machine and some dude was like I'm using it. I go on another machine and he's like i'm using this too. But I'm like you're on this one though. Regular normies with a collection of dumbbells around their area or doing supersets on multiple machines from my experience are more common. Or the very common somebody using the dumbbell racks to do their rows when I'm either trying to return some dumbbells or grab the ones that I need. It's the normal gymgoers and the "bodybuilders" from my experience that do this chit but I wouldn't say it's a huge problem or to the degree that people like to exaggerate things.

at least from my own experience "powerlifters" have not been an issue at all. different countries, areas, gyms maybe. encountering any sort of problems or bad behaviour or just extremely bad ettiquette is kinda rare.

LOL so true

at my gym these guys hog the power racks for hours, putting on knee sleeves, this and that, just ****ing lift the weight

by the time they're done with 1 set, I completed 10 sets and got a sick pump going. bishes mirin

do no more than 3 reps a set and afterwards they lay on the floor because they're so out of breathe(RPE 1 btw)

What rustles me is when they act incensed that:
1. You want to work in with them during busy time and no squat racks. Brah, you rest for 15 minutes, I can literally get all my reps in with you even noticing. Extra bar just sits on the safeties between sets.
2. You have 5 minutes or less remaining on the squat rack but because they just mainlined 8 scoops of pre-workout and if they don't lift in the next 10 seconds they will chit themselves, it's imperative that you immediately vacate the area for them to do what you've described above and warm-up for 2-3 hours.
3. They don't shower and make the entire gym just phucking reek.

In general bloatmaxxed PL brahs just have some of the chittiest gym etiquette in the world. I assume because the sport is 90% manlets and their toxic energy slash outlook in general sullies the vibe.
this. lot of tiny guys and now gals wanting to play the powerlifter life. 2 hours in the gym, just bull****ting and chalking up and wrapping at the only rack in the gym. **** is mad annoying.

yeah same exact experience for me. def notice casual lifters and even bodybuilders have much worse gym etiquette than the avg PL'er.

same happens to me too, usually a PL'er will leave their bag and go warm up or some other chit. prolly realize standing by 1 foot away like the normal person would do while staring at u just ruins ur concentration if anything so them not doing that is better gym etiquette.

ive worked out in every type of gym you could imagine. big powerlifting types that train on there own are generally friendly. ive never once ran into one that wouldnt let anyone work in. many are very encouraging too.

The ones ive always had an issue with are the young 20-26 crowd, generally 140-170 lbs. in groups of 3 or more, in a commercial size gym, taking over an entire area and spend 2 hours in that space to do 15 minutes of actual working out. straight cancer of people.
