Strong gym aesthetics, looks pretty. Personally I would ditch the dumbbells at some point and get adjustables to free up that wall space for other equipment. Real estate is precious in a home gym. The Ironmaster bench is great, I have the newer version with several attachments for it. Enjoy it bra, it's such a satisfying endeavor to build out your own gym.

Is the gym something along the lines of what you do as a profession?

Like construction or something in that area?

Cause I don't see a person pulling off a gym like that without pretty good understanding of "how to".

Naw , I’m the Cable Guy .
I’ve always been a hands on type of person , mostly because I don’t feel as though I’ve accomplished much if someone else does the job for me .
I make mistakes, but that’s how you learn I guess . My Mig welding is atrocious,as I’m just learning , but if I get enough work this year I’m going to purchase a Tig welder and see if I can improve .
I’m legally blind in my right eye , so that doesn’t help things I guess .

I have a plethora of wood tools , and some of my machines have never been plugged in yet .
Buying tools is like a disease , especially when your up there on the autism scale like myself .
I have to insulate my shop yet , and then I can get things more organized.
Here’s a list of my toys so far

The cnc laser no longer works . After I get my garage insulated and heated I’ll order another tube and see if that fixes it .
The cnc router table is not assembled yet , and probably won’t be for a while to come .
I need the electronics for it yet , plus the spindle . The cost will be another 8K fir that alone , well unless I take on assembling the electronics myself

Not really,as there’s not a lot of extra locations to install them . I did have one on the far wall in front of my old lat machine , but I removed it when I installed the Store Wall

Here’s a pic of my gym about five years ago when I had the extra mirror . I do kind of miss it

Was unaware there was a newer model . Just googled it and see it’s lower ,which would be a nice improvement. I may order that one day .

My only concern has been the seat option for for incline . It seems flex a bit,but has never bent .
Hopefully it lasts ,as it’s a very nice bench . A little wider bench design wouldn’t hurt either , but I use a different bench for bench press anyways , so having the two benches works very well for me so far

Would putting the heavier dumbbells on the bottom of the rack not be more convenient?

I actually get asked this a lot , even when people visit .
I didn’t have racks at the beginning, and almost pulled a nut picking my previous steel 95’s off the floor .
I find it’s easier to remove and place the heavier ones from the upper rack that the lower one .
To each his own of course .
I was debating to put the 5 pound dumbbells on the StoreWall , and use the additional room for a set of 95’s , but as I get older I’m finding the 90’s are adequate.
I also get asked why I bought the 5 pound dumbbells , and there basically for warming up my rotators , but looking back , I could have just used plates .
My neighbours daughter uses my gym when she visits from England each summer , so the 5’s may come in handy for her

You gotta do what feels best. Me, i'm a manlet. So having to lift a heavy dumbbell up from high is difficult.
When i lift it from the bottom, i make sure i'm using my legs, proper position and 1 at a time. You have to be careful with your form at all times.

The times i got the most injuries, weren't when i was doing a specific exercise when i was focussed. But when i was doing careless chit like grabbing a weight or whatever.

I too have 5 lb dumbbells for warm ups and are great. I'm thinking of buying an elastic band to help my shoulders warm up more, so i can hold it behind my neck etc.

The only thing i would change ist the mirror. I would replace it with full length wall mirrors so it covers the entire wall. Making the room look bigger and also lets you see everything when working out.

Double post because access denied whenever i tried to edit my previous one

Yes I posted some pics regarding colour choices and the building of the new squat racks ,
but I never had the bumper plate wall mount upgrade completed ,or the ceiling back up .
It’s so nice to have it cleaned up now and usable.
Unfortunately I can’t disassemble the other two racks till next spring , as the temperature has dropped dramatically. You need a minimum of 10C spray paint , and my garage isn’t heated and insulated yet

That would be a nice improvement.Although could go taller , I can’t go any wider , as I have to install inwall speakers on each side of the mirror in the future .
I have a sweet stereo system to install , but unfortunately I have other projects in the house to finish first

There’s only 13’ between walls, so it may be a little tight with more machines their .
The only thing I’d love to add is a leg press /hack squat machine . I found one in the US , but my passport expired .

This is the other side of the gym , and if I ousted the rower and water table , I think I could install another bumper storage wall rack on the far left , and put the hack/squat machine in the middle . Also the bumper storage rack on the right needs to be relocated 5 inches to make it the same distance as the others , so that will give me a little more real estate also .

This machine doesn’t use linear bearings , but I find there pretty noisy anyways .
I think if you left this machine unloaded when not in use that the rollers would probably be fine

New purchase this weekend . Bought the Samsung 55” frame tv . It has the option of being wall mounted so that it actually looks like a picture frame , but I opted for the feet and locating it on a corner shelf I built this summer .
(Please disregard the clamp in the middle holding the checker plate . I have a flaw in the paint and need to fix before glueing it on permanently.)
I really like this tv,as it has a steel frame and looks industrial, which is the theme I like in my gym.
It is on picture mode right now , and I found some nice looking sloots in gym settings , well except for this slooty sloot on the screen now .

The area is still in rebuild stage ,and at some point there’s going to be a Samsung 32” 4K QR mounted close to where the 26” on the right is now , but lowered .

Not much give , as there hard rubber , the same as horse stall mats . They are 1/2” rubber cut on a cnc water jet in Ohio ,and are easier to install .
No regrets other than I should bought the speckled ones ,as their hard to keep clean

get another 55" TV, not 32". keep the TVs all of the same size, brand, model, etc. for consistency and symmetry. otherwise, it will look off.

Well you can see a piece of green tape on the post to the right which has a 2” on it now .
It’s going to look weird anyways , as it’s going to be pointed at the rower ,and the bottom of the bezel will be at the height of the tape .
At some point I would like to oust the rower and water massage table bed completely though , and install a hack squat machine in its place .
Then I would only have a need for one tv ,the one on the left.
I do agree with you on the symmetry thing though

Buying tools is like a disease , especially when your up there on the autism scale like myself .
I have to insulate my shop yet , and then I can get things more organized.
Here’s a list of my toys so far

The cnc laser no longer works . After I get my garage insulated and heated I’ll order another tube and see if that fixes it .
The cnc router table is not assembled yet , and probably won’t be for a while to come .
I need the electronics for it yet , plus the spindle . The cost will be another 8K fir that alone , well unless I take on assembling the electronics myself
If you can count your tools, you dont have enough!

Gym looks ballin.
