I think in terms of nutrition I'll keep it moderate and in accordance with the dietary guidelines. LOT of protein for sure and some protein ice cream like Enlightened, but not a lot of highly processed food or food very high in fat and low-quality dairy and grains. I'm having a moderate serving of tortellini tonight though. MMMM tortellini.

but good tips thanks TypeNirvash and others. I feel like I should only ever train at Marcelo's after this. Their hygiene is on point. Other places.... idk.

UPDATE:
Follow up appointments all went well. Surgery on my knee is healing really nicely. I'm only on the IV for 1 more week (until next Thursday evening).
My girlfriend has been amazing. She's kept track of all my meds (well, we both have, but she did more at first while I was fairly out of it) and she's changed my IV for me EVERY DAY, which is a fiddly and kind of disturbing job.
My mom has also been amazing. Cooked for us and helped to clean our house and with laundry so Rachel doesn't have to do it all.
In two weeks I follow up with the surgeon and see if I can begin walking, etc., but he says I shouldn't even need PT, because the infection and thus the surgery in my knee was purely under the skin, not in the joint.
The infectious disease specialist told me that to avoid this happening again, double-wrap my knee in at least two layers before training, i.e. ace bandage and long pants. I had been training and lifting in shorts during the summer heat and because when my knee swelled, shorts wouldn't press on it. THAT WAS DUMB. SO DUMB. WHY. She also said to carefully disinfect ALL workout equipment. That's easy to do.
