Pro-Tip: Fly Delta. American had us packed in like Sardines, Delta blocks the middle seat and gives you a nice little satchel of snacks, water, and sanitizer when you board.

Thanksgiving 1 day.
Christmas 3 days. Christmas day is only day paid.
New years 1 day.
Labor day 1 day.

Work 7 days a week, 10 hours a day. Getting a rare 6 hour Sunday sometimes happens.

5 days off a year for sick. non paid.
5 days off a year vacation, paid.

I work in a steel fabrication plant.

i get 6 weeks of pto and every federal holiday off (17-18 days or something like that?) all paid. i work for the county.

I have no idea what PTO that people are referring to is.

Including bank holidays I get 40 days off. If I get sick I get the first 6 months at full pay and then 6 months at half pay.

Can’t say I get sick very often (long may that continue) but I usually take a extra week off as sick leave at some point throughout the year.

Plus we have flexi. So anything I work over 37 hours a week I claim back and take at a later date. Realistically, as no one actually monitors the flexi, I probably claim an extra hour of work a week which I don’t actually do. That adds a good week or so that I take off throughout the year.

paid time off. aka take a day off and misc all day and get paid for it.
