How are people soo ignorant bruh? I know how obviously (blasted with MASSIVE propaganda from birth) but damn, reading some people itts completely ignorant takes kinda hurts my heart :/

If these people had any idea of the type of fuel and sheer consumption of one ship like you said, their entire frame of reference would be shattered. They have no idea damn near every ocean going ship not only pollutes as much as 1 million cars, but is running on basically the dirtiest petroleum tar you can imagine.

“But it’s good for the environment!” they parrot over and over again, completely ignoring every single huge negative many of us have listed itt smh.

ESPECIALLY the UK bruhs itt, ffs their govt is flooding their countries with savage refuges, protecting rape gangs, and punishing people for ****ing social media posts but THIS issue they trust them on?? The same people raping and destroying (literally) your nations are telling you electric cars are all good and you can’t have anything else and all you can say is “It’s good for the environment though!”.

It blows my fuking mind srs. People truly are asleep, they’re under hypnosis and are blissfully unaware of the reality facing all of us.

Just watch, it's touted up as a good thing for now because electric cars are so new and small market that their battery waste hasn't really been an issue... yet. Once they become mainstream and everyone is driving one, the battery waste produced by electric cars after a decade of use is going to become a big environmental issue. It's essentially, like, 1000 laptop batteries for each car and those batteries are only good for about a decade, once they go bad it's going to become a big challenge to figure out how to dispose of them properly and it's going to have a big impact as they struggle to do it cleanly. They are probably just going to do the usual thing where they ship off all the waste to some place like China where they will just do something like dump it all in the ocean.

This is why I bought a 5.0 v8 young when I really shouldn't have from a financial optimization perspective. I know the libs won't let me have one soon and if I wanted to experience it, it had to be now.

Only poor people will be driving by 2030

The rest of us will be flying burning that jet fuel
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Not to mention the raping of the environment to mine for new rare earth materials to make new batteries. In addition to the extra helping of rape through power generation for all the extra power need.

I'm not anti EV at all. They will have to be the future but stuff like this just reeks of liberal feels and not enough effort spent in figuring out how we can make all this happen and not be worse off then before.

It's a temporary feel good situation at best. Today's virtue signaling for tomorrow's problems. Everything about it reminds me of the way plastic was being touted up as the solution for enviornmental issues back in the 90's. People forget how that was a big thing back then, the thinking was that plastics would save trees which was considered a great thing for the environment at the time. Of course over time with plastic becoming far more common it produced far more issues than it fixed, batteries are doomed to repeat history in that regard.

Why ban them? For the avg commuter, electric will become the staple once economies of scale sets in anyway..

The only people still driving gas or diesel will be those who want to or those who have it left over and don’t want to shell out for a new electric.

Introducing legislation around this is just stupid.

So much BS in this thread.

- Batteries life expectancy for Nissan is 20 years, car expectancy is 10 years.
- Once battery is no longer suitable for EV, it can be used for home energy storage.
- Once that's knackered, you can recycle the majority to raw materials.

Anybody throwing this **** can GTFO:

"Child labour is used to get the cobalt". Yeah, you know what else cobalt is used for? Refining oil to make petrol and diesel, plus your phone and laptop battery. Tesla about to go Cobalt free in their battery as well.
"We're mining the earth for lithium". No, 80% of the lithium is chemically extracted from brine in massive pools, not mined.
"EV batteries only last 5 years". No, they're all guaranteed for 7-8, and expectancy is 20 years. They're totally different to any other kind of battery.
"You're just shifting the emissions". No, we aren't. Using Vehicle-to-Grid tech we're able to use EVs as massive portable storage, balancing the grid. This allows us to store renewables when normally we'd need to turn off wind generation etc as we have a surplus that's not used.

I was working in automotive for 6 years before the current 18 months i've spent in energy. It's my actual job to understand and manage energy usage for electric vehicles and understand future trends.

If they don't tax the living chit out of continuing to use them, they could appreciate in value as a sort of grandfathered item.

Could not tell you the last time I felt the need for a kettle. Then again I don't sit around sipping tea wearing scarves like a homosexual so that probably changes things

The power grid is already a joke in this country, lots of houses still have fused panels and most have no room for a dedicated 220 line for the charger lmao

It's a failed idea from the start and only brain dead liberals run with the ideas of a fully automated electric world

We should all live in pods, ban meat, eat bugs, ban petrol cars and drive ghey electric brah! Forget about China building moreadditionalGWh of coal power stations than our entire country's consumption, just forget about China.
