besides passive security, theres not much you can do with apathy:

-Secure your garage (look up how on youtube from easy theft)
-No cars on street, or if it's that bad i've heard of people who leave there doors unlocked so they don't have a broken window (doubt its that bad)
-Strike plate on front door hinges
-Security film on Windows
-Cameras
-Locks on gates
-Gates with spikes so no one can climb over

I'm vindictive AF when it comes to thieves.

Way back in elementary school we had this kid that kept eating things out of people's lunches. Kid and his mom made exlax brownies. Got the little chit good, he actually went to the hospital but not before chitting himself in front of the whole school. Ole Dukie Drawers... I wonder what his Misc handle is?

I know someone who has tripple loaded ammo so that if anyone ever steals his ammo their gun will be shrapnel if they ever try to fire it.

I had a thief and I set them up. Not sure if they will put two and two together but I got them back.

It was the end of the school year from what I remember and I'm not sure much what happened after that but it's something you don't forget. Had the runs flowing out his pants leg srs. Janitor had to come clean up, put that saw dust crap down we used for vomit. Everyone was laughing so hard, between the stench and laughing so hard nobody could breathe and the teacher was so mad screaming "this is not funny" oh but it was.

Springs is on pace for the most murders in the city's history. Earlier this year they had two competing juvenile gangs trying to out-do each other for car thefts, gun thefts, and car break-ins and they took shots at a number of homeowners who tried to stop them.

Still a much better place than Denver but don't kid yourself, the lib policies are making things worse here too.
