Didn't know bursting eardrums was a thing with FAs, sucks. Are you hard of hearing now?

Half of us have issues with hearing but this often happens to short haul crew as we can do 4 flights a day. It’s 4 time descending which is when eardrums tend to burst most often. My right ear has muffled hearing now so flying is not something I can do for long.

In our company all pilots went on part time contract meaning no pilots were made redundant. Just not sure that 50% covers their flight school loans they often have

Im a NEET living in a literal retirement community.

Oldcel boomers all around me.

These fukers all have two houses, they come from up north and stay here in the winter. They are all covid paniccels. Guess what a ton of them still smoke and havent quit during covid. The ones living in my building all just sit out on the front porch all day waiting to die. Some of the other buildings are more active and have events and hobbies.


I start work again soon. Going to be weird not working after almost a year. The good thing is my move to a new timezone is in the right direction and I wont even have to do much to adjust getting up earlier.

Never realized that was one of the medical consequences of working in aviation. I'm surprised there aren't any kind of pressure-equalizing earplugs by now. I wonder if pilots get that too or if their headsets offer some protection. Anyway, losing heraing sucks. I think i have mild tinnitus in my left ear and now I'm super conscious about ear pro.

Yeah, I've heard they carry a lot of debt because of flight school. I remember Capt. Sully from the Miracle on the Hudson crashlanding testified and was talking about how many young pilots have to work second jobs as they work their way up in the industry. I know a couple people who went that route straight after HS and I know at least one of them has his wings now. Fkn sick. What are the costs in Turkey? Will you have to be an instructor for a few years to accumulate hours? Also, did you try for an aviation (either fixed wing or rotary) slot in the military? Would've been sick as you'd get great training for free plus tons of hours.

Nah I was artillery. You gotta study in the AF academy for a pilot role there. Before 2018 you didnt really need to work as a FI, could find employment with less than 100 hours and without a type rating. Will see how this goes now
