Pretty much all xtians are evil, cruel, hypocritical, judgmental, liars and abusive. The average person you meet in a bar is a far better person than you will meet in a church.

What was great is service is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay shorter than any church I regularly attended. What wasn't great is how BORING AND DRY that service is. It felt like I was at a wake.

Depends on the church and your location. At mine (Methodist in the deep south) everyone wears slacks and polo shirts or button down shirts with the occasional guy wearing a polo shirt and jeans. A lot of the old dudes will wear a full suit though.

I imagine someone can believe the golden rule is a good rule, and other teachings of Jesus from parables and such....and at the same time not believe Jesus was divine and rose from the dead or that God exists, talks from burning bushes, and that jazz.

Sermons can be application of some of those teachings to daily life etc.

I don't know that going to church would strengthen my relationship with God.

Especially when so many Churches are corrupt and spend their donation money on themselves and in the echelons of the Catholic church there have recently been such grevious sins.

Yep, Every Sunday and the occasional special week service. Best decision i have ever done.

I encourage anyone to find Jesus in these hard times. Find a good local Christian church and go all in. It takes more guts to believe in God than not to believe.

Whatever this even means, at the very least it could be applied to any religion (it takes more guts to believe in Allah of the Islamic tradition or the Hindu gods than not believe).

I would think from the position of a believer, it would take more gutsnotto believe in God, as that would supposedly be risking eternal damnation or non-existence, vs a comfortable afterlife, according to that particular religion.

Not that believing/not believing need be this thing to be chosen arbitrarily (some guy: “That’s it, I’m gonna believe in God now”). Belief doesn’t seem to work like that, it seems to be something you aren’t necessarily in control of (whatever that would mean anyway). In matters that are based on real evidence, such as findings in science, belief, if you want to call it that, can change as new evidence rolls in- it’s affected by evidence. This does not seem to the case with faith matters.

Church is not a building but the people. Surround yourself with Godly people it'll only help you with your walk with Jesus. From my experiences with Catholic churches, i found that most people are lukewarm. Find yourself a good christian church.

Yes, and I have attended Church with my family my entire life! My Dad was a Deacon, so our family was there every time the doors were open growing up. I now have my own family and we still attend the same church with my parents & my brother's family. My parents still serve as some manner, and my wife & I are on our internal security team.

And to answer the above, I do believe in God and Jesus as our savior.

Pretty much this for me. I have seen incredible things come about through prayer and faith.

I have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Even though I follow other Religion's teachings. Buddha Hindu, etc. One God many faces.

I won't confess my sins to a priest or AA cuz I'm a protestant.

I have been thinking of going to Church for at least 12 months.

I have sampled every language and French is my favorite to curse in.

I go to church to be in the presence of God either thru Worship or the message. Once you understand this you will want to become a better person. This all comes naturally thru the teachings of the bible/Jesus.

When i used to not believe i didn't know what it meant to be in the presence of God. I thought it was a joke, but its not. This is not something you can easily explain through a screen of text but its something everyone should experience. What i recommend people that are starting is to try to go all in for a couple months (2-3). Going in with one foot inside the door and one foot out usually never works.

I have too much respect for humanity and human beings to attend church, or pretend to believe in something as emotionally bankrupt or moraly reprehensible as God.
