It is a trigger word, because all these lockdowns, shutting down small businesses and people making a living is all done in the name of supposed "science". So you hear chit like "we're listening to the science", "we gotta follow the science". When you frame it this way, any sort of criticism to this is labelled as "anti-science" and people who are "anti-science" are just crazy people right? But these people who immediately shutdown these conversations saying "the science is settled" or "not up for debate" are actually the people who are anti-science because the field as a whole is based on testing hypotheses, recording the results, altering and framing the hypothesis differently in line with those results. What might be true scientifically today may be deemed false months or years from now.

It also isn't about just science either, because you also have to take into account the economy, people needing to put food on the table, child education, etc. Then you got these other flaming homos saying "listen to the experts" as if they all agree universally. It's just become a culture war of words srs where if you criticize something you are anti science therefore you are a heretic. It's just a lazy argument just like calling somebody a racist for trying to have some sort of discussion on race. But we really know it's because they haven't done any of their own reading or research and instead repeat CNN talking points without thinking for themselves.
