Asymptomatic spread is not the same as pre-symptomatic spread StupidAsPhuck. People like you and dumb kunt on video are the reason they're having to go into lockdown again.

It's not quite that extreme yet. Pretty damn close, though. People treat the virus like a vengeful deity and worship at the alter of safety protocol. But it's all just an excuse to boss people around and act superior. People absolutely obsessed with COVID and bossing each other around to get shots and wear masks are as insufferable as the BLM *******s who try to frame every fart sneeze and cough as racist because they are so lacking in personality and individualism.

Honestly you should stay in Mexico. Don't come here.

I hear you on the stay in mexico part, but I love the gf. Also I'm a simple person and as long as I can run on the beach I'm solid. I'm buying dip/pullup bar station as well to maintain the gains, and I get to live rent free for 5 months.

I'm not claiming that the 2 studies that I posted are the final word on the subject. The meta-analysis limitations are also discussed in the link.

RIP to the UK.
Sounds like the shills in charge over there are using this "new" strain as an excuse to clamp down on everyone.
In b4 several "new" strains pop up and eventually you all end up in lockdown prison camps...semi srs.

BRB no symptoms, no mask, visit grandma/grandpa, OOPS had coughing/sneezing attack that appeared out of nowhere. Person thinks it's ok because it was
just minor cold symptoms and couldn't possibly be COVID...Grandma/grandpa in hospital or dead few days later. I've seen this happen to several families that I know.
I have no respect for anti-maskers. It's literally such an easy thing to put on a mask when you are meeting people outside of your circle.

Abstract
We report temporal patterns of viral shedding in 94 patients with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 and modeled COVID-19 infectiousness profiles from a separate sample of 77 infector–infectee transmission pairs. We observed the highest viral load in throat swabs at the time of symptom onset, and inferred that infectiousness peaked on or before symptom onset. We estimated that 44% (95% confidence interval, 30–57%) of secondary cases were infected during the index cases’ presymptomatic stage, in settings with substantial household clustering, active case finding and quarantine outside the home. Disease control measures should be adjusted to account for probable substantial presymptomatic transmission.

Regarding the effectiveness of mask wearing, it's either way...
Like the UK Deputy chief medical officer Dr Jenny Harries says (props to her, for her honesty):
"‘The evidence on face coverings is not very strong in either direction. We are continuing to learn as the Prime Minister has said around how the virus transmits and it may be we do change advice in the future, that’s because we’re watching the science."

And the only other study cited (ref 108) with regard to pre-symptomatic didn’t quantify that proportion of transmission, only that viral shedding peaks around symptom onset, which tells you there is very likely going to be transmission before symptoms.
"Seen in the light of evolution, biology is, perhaps, intellectually the most satisfying and inspiring science. Without that light it becomes a pile of sundry facts -- some of them interesting or curious but making no meaningful picture as a whole."

Total Deaths:

All these are developed countries that already dealt with the previous SARS virus. Their populations wear masks anytime someone has minor cold symptoms even before the pandemic. Notice the difference between countries mandating masks before 15 days vs countries mandating masks at dates 16-30. It obviously made a difference. You don't need a 130 iq to see the pattern here. It does need to be above 80 at least though.
You will now say: "But places that wear masks still have outbreaks." I will answer: Look at this forum. There is a high portion of anti-maskers that ruin it for everyone else. There is also reason to suggest masks act as a sort of a crude vaccine, contributing to a high amount of asymptomatic cases that are now immune against the virus.
https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/2020...nst-covid-19#1
The theory -- and it remains largely a theory -- is that by filtering out airborne coronavirus droplets and thereby lowering the dose of SARS-CoV-2 a person inhales, infections have much less chance of producing symptoms.
Much in the way vaccination works, an immune response would be triggered in the mask-wearer upon contact with a small amount of virus, but at a level that's not likely to cause serious illness.
"If this theory bears out, population-wide masking, with any type of mask that increases acceptability and adherence, might contribute to increasing the proportion of SARS-CoV-2 infections that are asymptomatic," said Dr. Monica Gandhi and Dr. George Rutherford in a commentary published Sept. 8 in the New England Journal of Medicine. Both authors are from the University of California, San Francisco.
"
There is also a study of Tokyo residents showing up to 50% might have already had Covid, yet their actual symptomatic cases and death rate is negligible. They have widespread mask usage from even before the pandemic.

Because of the two studies that are referenced with regard to pre-symptomatic transmission (which for whatever reason is lumped statistically with asymptomatic) one (ref 109) suggests 40% of household transmission comes from pre-symptomatic hosts. I suggest you actually read the citation, here:
https://www.nature.com/articles/s415...9iCt0w8H7OXmpk
And the only other study cited (ref 108) with regard to pre-symptomatic didn’t quantify that proportion of transmission, only that viral shedding peaks around symptom onset, which tells you there is very likely going to be transmission before symptoms.

I skimmed the link, I'll likely read it properly tomorrow. (It's close to 2.30am here).

Like you said it was grouping asymptomatic with presymptomatic. (If I understand it right.)
