As if healthy food is cheaper , its always the junk thats cheap and easily accessible

Expected statement from him as he would want people to flock to whole foods and buy their over priced food in the name of 'eating healthy'

However I agree that Healthy food awareness , accessibility and cost should be looked into seriously along with universal health care

Getting a million dollar bill is not cool at all

This sounds good on paper but is a naive and childish view of the problem.

The real question is: since everyone knows that eating properly and getting a lot of exercise is the best choice, why don't they do it?

The answer is because our culture is a massive nail biting stressfest unless you are rich and don't have to do any work. If not, you barely have time for anything except work and the only pleasure you will have is from food and maybe substance abuse.

So, the CEO of Whole Foods is like a child speaking.

You realize just 10-15min of proper cardio a day--even if it's something simple as jumping jacks or shadow boxing--eating properly with no crazy amount of excess calories alone would dramatically improve your weight and health? Hitting the gym just twice a week for 45min would see exponential results.

Enough with the excuses, people in poverty are living longer than those who make 20x more than them. There is zero chance their week is SO jammed they have zero minutes for setting aside exercise time let alone what's time have to do with eating properly? I can do a small cooking session and have nearly all my meals ready for a whole week.

Plenty of people are living sh*t lives and aren't abusing substances, that's a personal responsibility with zero reason other than your own psychological weakness.

Really, we are at the point now that eating healthy and exercising a bare minimum amount is a luxury only the unemployed and rich can indulge in? No it's an attitude, and that attitude is purely laziness. If you wanted to do it, you could easily but since it has to be incessant, a lifestyle change that's too "hard". Why do you think misery loves company? It's a lot easier to do nothing and appeal to everyone else in the same boat with excuses then grow the will power to break free. There are no eternal forces at work here, it's internal.

If you want to be a fat fuk ditch pig do it where you don't affect anyone else. What about these little pudding kids running around being shoveled sugar in their mouths? What's the excuse there? Does your child's health take too much time because of "nail biting" work?

Healthy food is far cheaper if you aren’t a retard and know how to shop

I just had Wendy’s last week and spent $13. For that amount of money I could eat healthy whole food for 3 days

What reality do you live in? You wouldn’t get much variety but rice, beans, and beef are cheap as hell.

While eating clean and being active is pretty common sense advice this guy is a ******* because he's only trying to push people to his store.

Also the fact that exercise and diet is important doesn't negate the absolute broken health care the US has in place.

5 lbs chicken thighs- $7
Dozen eggs - $1
Giant frozen bag broccoli - $3
Beans and rice from bulk bags - less than $2
Oatmeal from bulk container

Yeah I can eat that in 3 days. Can also get 80/20 beef for $1.50lb on Tuesdays

Only complete idiots perpetuate the myth that healthy food is more expensive than junk

Everyone says this when they are younger and that's why we see young Americans with gym bodies and then fat older Americans who look nothing like their younger versions.

Yesterday, I worked from 9AM until 8PM and my "cardio" was running around for a time when was out of the car or a home. I then got home and had to do the paperwork for what I did today at work and so I wasn't done until 930PM. Then, I showered and so forth and had to settle down for bed, which too hours.

Anyway, I do not have kids. However, if you have a career, where you must work outside of normal hours, and you have kids, you are going to have nonstop activity all day long.

I make it a point to get cardio daily. I used to lift daily, but I'd be at the gym every day until like 9PM. So, I cut back on that so I have more healing time and time for hobbies. However, if you have a family you don't have much time.

Like I've said, yesterday was very busy. I actually got lost going home because mentally I was out of it. So, if you think about it, many people are OUT OF THEIR MINDS on most days and wiped out and so they stuff food in their mouths and collapse.

All of that is the real issue with many middle class people.

people saying "eating healthy is expensive" is just cope.

yeah, if you are buying phucking organic caviar and chit it will be expensive.

a simple meal of fried rice with frozen veggies and lean chicken bought in bulk isn't expensive at all and covers a lot of your bases. Or get some frozen salmon with that. I see these obese people buying phucking $15 combo meals so I don't even want to hear about money being an issue there.

Fresh chicken breast to last me for three days is about $12. And I eat the typical bodybuilder diet of 1g of protein per pound of body weight spread across 5 meals. For the average joe, it'll last a bit longer.

A bag of brown rice that last me a week is about $3.

I can imagine there is some truth to that, that a healthy diet can help keep the doctor away. Many question what a healthy diet is. There are some basics but lots remains to be discovered I believe.

As an example, I read not long ago about a doctor, a Dr Baggette from Montgomery Alabama, that asked his patients to stop consuming all milk/dairy products. Not all patients complied with his request but many patients did self report that they stopped consuming dairy. The informal result was astounding to me. Those that reported that they had stopped consuming milk products experienced no appendix emergencies, fewer infections, no asthma issues, and overall greater healthy in patients that avoided milk dairy products.

The Alabama doctor had perviously averaged around 100+ hospitalizations of patients per year. Since most of his patients stopped consuming dairy milk products he was averaging 12 to 14 patients a year being hospitalized.

Why do you people resist?

The world is the way it is because we keep intervening and preventing natural selection...

Let people believe fat is beautiful and its a body image issue
Remove the guard rails to prevent people from going over the edge of the grand canyon
Stop putting warning labels on everything
Stop resisting the legalization of HARD drugs
etc
etc

Take your hands off of the steering wheel...just let go....allow the utterly moronic and stupid to weed themselves out of the gene pool. Do NOT save people from their stupidity. Let it takes its course.

Unhealthy food, calories per calorie is less expensive than healthy food and easier to prepare and eat. That being said it's still a lame excuse to eat like a pig because of it.

Calorie per calorie fast food is way cheaper.

Go to a grocery outlet and these are the prices

1 large frozen pizza, 4$.
1 gallon of milk 2$
Big Bag of cereal 2$
2 litter Soda 1$
Ramen, 4 for 1$.

10$ total for 7200 calories. Plus non of the above need seasoning/non-stick supplies or any long prep time and all taste much better.
Most people could do with less calories and veggies/fruits/protein tends to be more satiating so I think they would eat less calories anyway on a healthier diet. Pre-covid i was buying lunch 4x a week, on average I would spend about $12 a day so about $50 let's say a week for lunch. Now I am eating at home I'm probably spending around $20 a week on the ingredients used, and sometimes I have leftovers for breakfast or dinner. Money is just an excuse at the end of the day especially since many of them you'll find at McDonalds buying combo meals. Aside from dollar menu items I can make a lunch that is much cheaper and healthier.
