Whole Foods CEO causes outrage by suggesting healthy diets
Sourcehttps://www.cnbc.com/2021/01/04/whol...alth-care.html
Also, ironically enough, the current state of healthcare at the same funding would be greatly improved if it weren't bogged down by all these avoidable problems caused by people who don't take care of themselves. Meaning people suffering issues that aren't caused by themselves (car accidents, tradie accidents, etc) are going to receive better attention.
Cliffs
-folks who would prefer healthcare system to take care of them are made at dude making valid and highly relevant arguments
-said folks eat like dogchit and never exercise
-society further degrading by total lack of personal accountability en masse
“The best solution is to change the way people eat, the way they live, the lifestyle, and diet,” Mackey says. “There’s no reason why people shouldn’t be healthy and have a longer health span. A bunch of drugs is not going to solve the problem.”
Americans are not taking as good care of their own bodies as they ought to be, Mackey says: “71% of Americans are overweight and 42.5% are obese. Clearly, we’re making bad choices in the way we eat,” he says. “It’s not a sustainable path. And so, I’m calling it out.”
A lot of people (ie twitter, reddit) are apparently triggered by this since free unlimited healthcare is the only way to a healthy life (srsly not fukken srs). Mackey basically makes the point I hold which is if most people actually ate healthy, worked out, maintained a normal weight, there'd be a marked drop in problems burdening the system like broken bones, depression, medications, and ofc premature death. This is a problem in Canada to where care is more tax funded yet we have the exact same obesity epidemic. It's retarded how some sects of people actually think more healthcare to treat a problem is better than mitigating/eliminating said problem in the first place.Americans are not taking as good care of their own bodies as they ought to be, Mackey says: “71% of Americans are overweight and 42.5% are obese. eating healthy, working out, and maintaining a normal weight means a person has to take some responsibility for their health. sadly, being accountable is racist these days

It's retarded how some sects of people actually think more healthcare to treat a problem is better than mitigating/eliminating said problem in the first place.

When it comes to rep power, just remember this. Better red than dead. Your reps mean squat in real life. Just thank the lord that you have your health.

I get my meat from local ranchers. Usually buy a 1/4 cow at a time. I get butcher box as well. Then I get everything else from Whole Foods using an Amazon prime card. End up getting like 10% off everything at Whole Foods that way.

A Western SJW world where saying the right thing or truism is now considered outrageous and radical. It's a parody atm especially magazines putting beyond obese women on the front page. Foul and disgusting, this is what happens when you remove all shame; people have no psychological reason to change.

I never understood how fat people get triggered by the truth. When I lived in a group home at 19, there was a fat chick the same age as me who weighed 285 pounds who wouldn’t allow us to say the word “fat” at all because she got triggered.

While I agree 100% with the guy, I hate Whole Foods and their overpriced products. Yea a lot of it is better quality but only marginally better and nowhere close to justifying a lot of their outrageous prices.
That whole notion that “eating healthy is expensive“ is complete bullsh!t. People just don’t wanna do it.
You could stock up on bulk powdered eggs, brown rice, quinoa, sardines, vegetables, etc and live an extremely healthy lifestyle that’s dirt cheap.
