I’m with you. The Subzero Scorpion fight looked cool. Had flashbacks to being 12 or however old I was when I played this as a kid.

Liu Kang looks like a bitch. Jax is okay. I want Johnny Cage! Shang Tsung looks alright too. Hopefully Sub can save the movie. The casting looks like **** for the most part.

the plot seems bad and generic..similar to the original but with updated graphics and blood.


I thought the fan film made 10yrs ago was pretty decent and had a good plot

If they’re going for the “serious” mood it will be tough to compare to the 95 film, which was actually pretty witty and perfectly cast.

Annihilation was a hot mess although both films had a 10/10 soundtrack to them

I’m sure something is up with Johnny cage or it’s a 4th-wall swerve and the new kid winds up being Johnny and they’re just filming a movie of his

It doesn't look good, but better than exspected.
I think the should slow down on the CGI, if they cannot afford good special effects. Using fatalities from the game is a cute idea, but if they lack the money to make them convincing just keep them out or limit their number. This was something the 2nd movie already did wrong with those terrible animalities and the scorpion fight.

Why can't they find someone to write a good script? Stop making the tournament take place on earth. It should be a "PLANET HULK" type of scenario, a world in which fighting tournament is the main thing, and there's aliens and mutants and **** on this foreign planet. And have it be fantasy and the fighters fight there.
That would totally break their budget and end up looking terrible.

I think it looks pretty decent, actually. That Rebirth short was complete trash, and the Legacy series was too low budget to really do anything....all the cool sh!t in Legacy they just animated.

Mortal Kombat could be the next Game of Thrones. Realm politics, sexy fighters, big character deaths...if they just treat the lore series this could be a cash cow.

Mortal Kombat has some of the coolest lore in gaming. The storylines are such cheesy fun. It's like horror sci-fi fantasy action kung fu. What's not to love? Not everything has to be melodramatic Dark Knight Nolan garbage.

There was a vague orchestra rendition of the techno MK theme at the end of the trailer. But that song is a novelty. The in-game music from Mortal Kombat 1 - UMK3 was awesome. They should do those songs more than anything.
