Truth, and that's something I've taught my kids. But the phone and online presence is such a core part of their existence now that they don't see it as a luxury or choice (at least most kids I've seen). It's like saying you can avoid being bullied by locking yourself in your bathroom for 2 weeks to them.

It is. I make them take phone/social media breaks both to engage in activities daily and for extended periods on occasion. They are overstimulated more than you could possibly imagine.

The truth is, actual cyber bullying is scouring through someone's posts and getting them sh!tcanned from a job in real life, causing them to lose a college scholarship, etc. etc.

Ever since gamergate the whole of culture is so god damn pussified. "I got death threats on a video game!" You were playing Call of Duty you absolute *******, a game where you kill the opponent. When the objective of the game is to kill each other, there is no such thing as "death threats." People are being facetious to rack up victim points. It's just beyond insanity at this point, how brittle they all are.

HOWEVER, can't knock the hustle of these *******s turning lip-syncing vids and nudes into 5 figures. Absolutely no shame or self-respect, but they're raking it in.

How can they concentrate on school and learning for exams with so much stimulation from their smartphones?

Well mine do because I've taught them to find the balance and prioritize their time. Many don't. As someone said above it all goes back to parenting and I suspect the gap that is being created from 'good' and 'bad' parenting may be growing in current times. At least it seems drastic as I observe it with their friends.
