Teens growing up right now need to prepare themselves for the cultural revolution that will happen in the 2020’s. That’s their best hope at a life not wasted on tiktok and jestermaxing on snapchat for sub 5 sloots. Hopefully by the end there is no more racism or white supremacy

I think about this often. We used to go outside, play, interact socially. I got into the misc after id done many of those things but still think it had a very negative effect on my mentality, confidence, and socialization.

And if this covid garbage keeps going then kids will miss the entire aspect that really made us who we are, and will only digest the cancerous bullshyt from the internet.

I see a lit of kids outside during the day on weekdays.

Riding bikes, hanging out in front of the gas station, etc. And im in a pretty good suburban area, not in some ghetto.

Young kids are going to be (more) socially stunted than they were before. That whole generation is going to live life through a screen.

The WORST would be those going into college.

Freshman year was the funnest year of my life hands down.

I'll come out of permanent lurking for a rare post. I have two teenagers, one of each gender, in a world that would eviscerate me just for saying what I just said. There are pros and cons to what they have experienced and I definitely worry about what their lives will be like and how they will feel about having a family. For starters they know everything and have for a long time. They have access to the entire collection of world knowledge and have know **** at 7 that I didn't know until I was 16. They are very well spoken, incredibly bright, and working through trying to understand social and global issues that I didn't really care about until I wanted to try to **** the worldly hot girl in college.

The biggest issue is that they all have their own phones and are constantly on them. I resisted longer than their entire friend groups but they've had them for a few years and their lives revolve around them. There are positives (communication ability, social skills, planning skills) but the major negatives are the stress that constant contact can create. When I was 13 I could go home from school and be surrounded by my friends. No one can escape anyone now. My Son has 150 contacts he knows personally and about 50 he speaks with daily. He's the hockey captain and is outgoing, so that's maybe bigger than usual, but my daughter keeps a tight friend circle and has at least half of that.
