Fuarkkk, was potentially considering a move to Lancaster/York Counties in PA since my cousins live there, but after seeing that tranny health minister and hearing OP's story it seems even there might going down the tubes.

Those areas are fine, PA is pretty red. Even my area is very moderate. The closer you get to Philly the worse it is.

But like the other guy stated, I don't think there's any avoiding this BS anyway. You just have to find a local community that fits your values.

Down the street from us is a world class gym called Newtown Athletic Club. The owner is an open Trump Supporter. Pretty much anyone who still goes there either doesn't care or is all in on Trump as well. I lift in my basement but I pay the expensive membership JUST to get access to the pool in the summer. It's ****ing amazing lol.

Greenville came to mind because it's going to be warm, but still have 4 seasons and seems to be up and coming pretty fast in terms of development and economy. Close to mountains, close enough to beach, probably not insanely conservative but certainly not insanely liberal (I hope).

i used to always look at a horse farm for sale on the west side of the gorge that was about that size and price. i think you could walk right onto pisgah land.

grainvul downtown is goat bc its so aesthetic and walkable. asheville is awesome but the streets are choked with literal blue hair hippie drum circles. charleson is too hot and crowded.

Thats what I remember from 2006 or so when I visited. Very clean for a city.

I have lived all up and down the east coast. Living in Savannah currently

The people are friendly. The weather is great. There's just much less tension in the air if that makes sense

Agreed, but I kind of appreciate it in that it’s like a magnet pulling a lot of the clowns out of Greenville, which is one of the things helping Greenville. Used to spend a lot of time there(Greenville) and always liked it. For OP I’d suggest looking into Simpsonville. Good schools and area, but growing fast. Not sure how the school district lines break down, but you may be able to look into Fountain Inn and get a more rural place but still be in those schools.

sc is more rural, Charlotte nc and Durham nc I would not raise a kid in. Greensboro/holly hill/ cary (bought my first house there) /the coast and chapel hill are great.

I really like the rural areas of Tennessee like Sullivan county. In South Carolina the north part of the coast isn’t as nice with myrtle beach being a tacky tourist town. I really like the area around mariron lake and Anderson

There's not a day goes by that I don't see ghetto azz chit going down in Anderson. I would dwell in a cave before I lived in a mansion in that town. Horrible. The closest I come is when I pass by there on 85 on my way to Clemson and lake Keowee.

Pisgah is awesome. I grew up there. My parents have a house about 15 minutes from the entrance of the forest in Brevard. The view from their front porch is mount Pisgah; absolutely beautiful. Back during high school we used throw parties up there. We'd drive up using the fire roads and throw a keg in a cold creek.
