You want me to have sympathy for a beast that's coming into my home, and possibly killing me by chewing wires or leaving a disease around?
The glue trap is the least of the issue headed their way if that was me. Godspeed OP, and may you be more successful than the CCP in your cleansing.

Literally just dealt with this last week. Had a guy come in and he told me that unless you kill the nest, they will keep coming back. He put out these bait things where he found droppings and they eat some and take it back for the other mice, then it kills them all and they dry out somehow so there's no smell.
I also put out traps and have killed three but haven't seen or heard one in a couple of days. Figured a combination of the two would be more effective. So look for the bait things, you can probably find them at a hardware store.

Unless you figure out how they got into your attic and seal it off, they will keep coming back. Also, chances are good they will find a way into your living space. If that happens, they'll find food, breed and survive until you seal the attic and kill them all. I'd call pest control.

They are extremely difficult to eradicate. Usually, the best strategy is to make it harder for them to get food. It is impractical and difficult to eliminate them all.
By the time you notice you have mice, you probably have tons of them. A lot of mice also have raiding parties and go from house to house in a neighborhood. They are a LOT smarter than people think. They can get in through some of the most ridiculous gaps too.
They were cutting down some trees near our neighborhood and that caused an invasion of mice. Almost everyone on our street had mice issues lol.

Had mice problem for years on my house, tried a lot of methods for killing them, but the rate I kill them is slower than the rate they reproduce. Craziest thing I did was displaying a dead mouse in order for his or her kin to see it as an example.
What worked is making sure they starve out. Be very careful about food, crumbs, make sure to wash dishes as soon as you finish using them, make sure the trash is properly sealed, etc.
Have no more mice problem now.

UPdate:
i got 4 rat traps, the metal snap bar thing and put jif in em.
put em up there by the opening and closed the hatch
the attic was filed with that yellow insulation everywhere like a pit like there wasnt a flat surface so i just put the trap on top
gonna check in a week see if i catch anything. ill notice if i stop hearing gnawing/scratching around at 5-6am

If the bar traps fail, use the traps that have the needle. They worked flawlessly when a family member needed to clear out some mice. Chocolate and peanut butter as bait.
You should be able to hear the traps go off. They are pretty loud. But that will depend on the structure and location of your attic.

it's a lot better to just eliminate their easy access to food. They will usually take the hint and look elsewhere.

We have a few come in when we get heavy snowfalls. I 3D printed a mouse trap and baited them with peanut butter. Then throw them in a field away from the house. I've used glue traps in the past and feel so bad when you find them alive struggling.I like to at least give them a chance to outsmart the hawks and owls we have around.

fuk being humane, get that chit out of your place by any means necessary before it becomes a BIG problem

Theres only one real answer. Get the GOAT ratter and let em loose in your attack. 20 dead rats in an hour and you'll have one stoked pup.

Also makes a good family dog.
EDIT: We get rats in the house occasionally, and mine has a 3 kill count at this point (over 2 years). Hadn't have any issues with em this year - though the neighbors have a bunch apparently. Word must have gotten out not to **** around our spot - must be learning.

I threw a box of poison up in my attic
Also had a raccoon problem last year. You gotta find the entry points and close them off good
Mice/rats can fit into an opening as small as 1/4" so if you have any openings that size or smaller they are getting in. My weak spot was a gutter was coming apart from the roof and left a pretty big gap exposed into the attic.
They also climb up wires and pipes on the outside of your house and enter through the hole in the wall if its not well sealed. Last year I caught 6 raccoons 2 moms and 4 pups with a wildlife expert he released them by his house on a lake. Mice can ruin your life pretty quick, show no mercy before your attic smells like chit and your wiring is chewed through.... ded fukn srs
