People get into weird lease and financing arrangements all the time for chitty solar panels srs. Old people often scammed into this chit it’s gross.

Make an offer, disregard the cost of the panel debt. Just make sure that debt is not tied to the house through a 2nd mortgage and still owed by the dead lady. People die holding debt all the time, that’s on the estate to figure out not your problem.

Don’t pay for it, if they come taking your panels away then nothing is lost. Most likely they write off the debt since nobody is gonna pay it, especially you shouldn’t.

i bought my rental in 2017 with solar on it, and i'm in colorado so lots of sunlight. its like $60 a month to SunRun, and I have no idea if I'm even saving money, I just assume so because the amount of sun we get lmao.

Just decide if you feel like the equipment is able to be paid off in a decade if most of us paid off already because if your power bills going to pay it off in a decade then if you don’t you saw that you’re still going to be paying power anyway that’s a lot more expensive than solar. If you answer my questions I can give you a definite response but if you don’t you’re gonna make a bad mistake

Tell seller to get rid of it. You’ll never break even on the cost of the contract. Even if you were to remain in your home long enough to surpass the break even point, the technology will have far surpassed what you have and you’ll be stuck with antiquated tech.

My house only runs $75 per month in electricity. Assuming I paid 22k for solar. It would take over 24 years before I'd even break even. We can assume the cost of power will only increase so that number likely wouldn't remain accurate. But how freaking long will that solar system last for without me pouring more money into it? How much will the cost of solar panels be reduced in the future as they become more wide-spread? Etc. I just feel like solar is probably a bad option right now unless you have a really schit power company.

Edison for me they've never really cucked us, what gets me when I was gone one time for like 3 weeks out of a month my bill was still exactly as if I was home all 3 weeks like what the actual fuk? They pretty much make sure you're paying a minimum amount whether you're using the electricity or not

Well you’re not paying 22 grand because it’s based off of your system so if you’re paying that little your system is going to obviously be cheaper and the government subsidizes almost 1/3. It’s all finance so no cost you just pay off your loan with what you were paying to the power company if not cheaper

Us solarmaxxers pay a minimum too for the privilege to stay connected to the grid. Edison looks like a SoCal utility. You guys don't need to run your AC for 8 hours a day in the summer which is also a bonus. Up here it will be triple digits from June through August.

Not the most ideal area for me summer wise mid to high 90s but no one is home during the day so A/C and lights off don't get home till about 6-630 after the gym and by that time just run the A/C for maybe an hour or two and if its nice night can open up the windows with some fans. Easy win I think the most I paid was 350 during summer months when I took some time off

You would never need a system that big. At 22k you'b be getting roughly 20 panels. You are probably better off with a much smaller system like 10 panels. My guess is your monthly payment for solar would be very close to what you currently pair for electricity, but you'd own it free and clean in 8ish years.
