Buying home with FINANCED solar?

Wat do? I don’t even want those hippy panels,

Should I tell seller to pay for removal ??

Those count as part of the house once installed. The seller's proceeds should go toward paying them off and they should be included in the price of the home for you.

You don't have an attorney?

It's her estates problem. Stipulate it - You don't owe money for appliances / hvac because the previous homeowner financed and hasn't paid them off regardless of if they are a scumbag or died of natural causes.

Unfortunately, depending on where you are buying, houses are in such high demand that people will meet the sellers crazy demands in order to not lose out to another buyer.
Unless you are desperate, make the seller eat the loan or walk away.

As part of preparation for closing the title company should search out for liens against the house. If the company that financed the panels don't have a lien on the home then they're yours regardless of how the seller feels.

lmao at paying for anything. If they want more, they should list for more--they're playing games.

If the system is mostly paid off and you got a really good system size and good panels good inverter then you’re probably gonna be walking into a house with zero power bill so as long as that’s the case and check on the net metering of the power company and what that is right now that’s really important but if the system is running nothings wrong with it get equipment mostly paid off it’s worth it because if you’re gonna end up paying 100 and $200 for a power bill regardless if you do solar or not you’re gonna end up paying that off in 10 years or less and then you’re done with the power bill forever. Versus if you never do solar you’re paying a power bill for life and with inflation around the corner your powers in with a lot of money

It would probably be a deal breaker for me. Unless absolutely everything else about the house/location/ price was perfect. And I mean perfect. If you can’t convince them to pay off the loan at closing, maybe you can get them to do a portion of it? Those things add little to no value to homes

Also pending on the house age of the company you might’ve had an electrical upgrade that your house is going to need anyway but as long as everything‘s working you’re probably gonna get a good deal if a decent amount of the system is paid off that’s why I need the specs. Also if it’s solar edge inverter see if they paid for the extended warranty

Then just like bitcoin world solar has so much misconception this is the most bull**** thing ever every panels that companies use have a 25 year production warranty so by the 25th year they only about lose 10% efficiency see example below with Panasonic the last 40+ years now
