The blackest pill is realizing that everyone settles . Its just a matter of degrees.

3.5+ Billion Women on the planet and you have access to like a microscopic percentage of that. If you are a loner you are limited like like 100 females you meet in your young adult life.
Chances of one them being "the one" is zero. If you are extremely outgoing and have a lot going for you, you probably have access to maybe 2000, still basically zero chance of one of them being truely the one.

Everyone settles for the "good enough one", and the older and lower (internal and external) value you are, the higher your partner's perceived value and vice versa.

This is why you see very attractive girls dating ****heads, because actually their self worth, or actual worth is actually very low when you break it down beyond just looks.
Athletics > Aesthetics
I guess its time to start training again.

LOL @ "the one"
Brb the one who knocks you up
Brb the one who's baby you kept
Brb the one who tolerates you
Brb the one who answers when you call
Brb brainwashed broads living in a fantasy.

If he doesn't hit you, works and is somewhat attractive to you then you found "the one" because its not getting much better than that no matter how good you look. Halle berry gets cheated on and 99.8% of women never looked as good as Halle berry.

I don’t think there’s “ a one” for anyone

I just think there are people who are really good for each other for whatever reason and there are people who aren’t

Chemistry is physical , sexual and emotional but all compatibility means is people who like each other both put in effort to maintain the relationship.

Imo it’s a made up word.

You look around and some of the people you see in serious relationships are polar opposites from each other

It’s weird when you really think about it

Agree with the other part though. Be comfortable knowing you may very well die alone but that it really doesn’t mean anything and you’ll attract someone.

Yes, odd how their standards for mate selection boil down to a list of qualities that is completely unattainable for most any man. Aside from that, if she ever found a man exactly to her preferences, who's to say he would like her? That is one problem with women having more agency in the dating world; that they cannot be realistic about their wants and expectations. Maybe a **** analogy, but it's like going to a dealership to get a car. Men go there, see the selection, want to pick the best car on the lot that they can afford. Women approach the lot with a set of qualities in mind and get upset if the dealership doesn't have the exact model, color, mileage, options, etc. that she is looking for. Well maybe Toyota needs to make a car specifically for me, then? Why is it such a fukcing disaster if you have to settle for a car with door handles you don't like?

That would explain why I have seen so many videos over the years of women who run dating/matchmaking services, being up in arms over having to deal with women all the time. It's like women have this expectation that the dating scene should be 100% accommodating to the woman, with little to no regard for the men.

also not sure why people are ripping on the buzzfeed source. I was surprised that almost all the replies to the article were people saying a lot of the same we are saying here

Great chemistry and being in love is the #1 requirement before I would start to see someone as a girlfriend or wife, srs.

I would never marry or have a girlfriend for “practical” reasons.

Of course you also need to align in many other ways and be willing to work on your relationsship for it to work, but for me this is not relevant before #1.
Just because you’re in love and love a person deeply, doesn’t make the relationsship a cake walk. Being with the person you believe is “the one” for you is not going to be easy all the time, and there will be tough periods, nobody is perfect etc. It seems some people think “the one” = every is perfect in every way, all the time. That’s crazy.

people want what they dont have, or what they feel could be easily lost. this is why you should never act like a love sick puppy towards your woman, always have a slight edge of apathy even if its not really how you feel.

This is the main issue. Of course some people get lucky and do find "the one". But it's incredibly rare to find someone that you are attracted to, get along with extremely well with, can live with, and stay passionate towards over years, and then all the above also has to apply for them towards you. That's just so rare that majority of people probably are "settling".

But that's not the worst thing to settle if you go in with the expectation of just finding a partner to grow with. Issue is like the quoted poster said, everyone expects to find the perfect person because we are told by our society and movies and everything that we deserve it.

Honestly considered going this route. I'm not really religious, but my morals and values do align with a lot of what religion aligns with. The problem is I would feel like an asshat going to church for the sole purpose of trying to meet a wife material woman.

The whole "finding the one" mentality is what ends up wrecking a lot of marriages/long-term relationships these days. That Hollywood movie fairytale bs leads to a lot of disappointment when people realize that that's simply not how healty long-term relationships work.

Usually it's women who get caught up in it. Then after a few years of marriage to a guy, they'll start realizing that it's impossible to maintain a constantly exciting relationship forever. Instead of adjusting to that reality and learning to appreciate what they have, many women will just say the hell with it and start planning their exit to bail on the relationship. People with petty mentalities about relationships like that typically think it'd just be easier to look for their "excitement" or whatever by looking elsewhere and continuing to chase the fairytale dream nonsense rather than double down and put in the work/effort to fix/maintain what they already have.

Ironically, 90%+ of the time, it just results in further disappointment as they repeat the cycle, constantly hoping it somehow changes rather than adapting to reality. Women like that are seldom happy in a relationship for more than a few years or so. It's pretty sad actually, especially since it's so common these days. They view relationships like they view smart phones or some other consumerist commodity where they'd rather just get something new than enjoy what they have.

sounds like the essence of femininity.

i think it really boils down to 1 thing. and that's their options. i know we sort of vaguely think about it but i think that's really it and only it. that is directly caused by men's nuts. men are horny and looking for it

so when john's a little downtrodden, henry is over there looking juicy. and you know he's ready and willing cause he's a man with testicles

the turmoil is caused by the steadiness of men's nuts. throw in their hormonal fluctuations (do they want sex or longterm?) too

A lot of women in their late 20s and early 30s have extremely unrealistic standards. Especially if they were hot during their teens and early 20s. They should have locked up a quality guy when they still had the chance.

Of course now their value has plummeted but they still don't realize it yet. They want a tall, good looking man with money but these top tier men have abundance of choices. They aren't going to settle for an aging woman.

Women need to stop taking advice from other jaded and delusional women. Of course they eventually settle with an average man and resent it with every fiber of their being.

Women cannot behave.

Men need to stand up to simp culture. No other approach can work. Women are not capable of leading.
