Not true. I'm a frontline healthcare worker and my site doesn't require the vaccine. Myself and many of my co-workers have not gotten it.

What kind of frontline worker are you?

My gf is a nurse anesthetist, her hospital didn't mandate it but 90% of her coworkers got it. She was dressing in a hazmat suit to treat patients.

The majority of the people who did not opt to be vaccinated were women who still want to have kids. At some point someone said the vaccine could attack placentas due to a common gene sequence in placentas and the virus. It has since been stated that the sequence that matches is too short for this to be a real concern.

Idk, but i don't have any placentas anyway.

Not getting it until someone says I have to for that reason.

Although I'm not necessarily young any more I take pretty good care of myself and am in good health.

I look at it as perks of my lifestyle.

Like if you don't want to need the vaccine put the time and effort in to maintain your health.

It's preventative/proactive.

Much easier to get a mystery shot.

Although several of my friends and family have taken the shot and they're doing just fine.
The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

That's why grandma's apple pie rocks and yours sucks.

I started reading about how it is made, how it works, and spiked proteins and antibodies are not that scary and controversial. Personal choice, but I don't do the fear panicell thing for the vaccine either.

Med lab scientist. I don't deal with patients a ton but usually draw at least a couple most days. Yes, if I draw a suspected covid patient I have to wear a papr which looks kind of like a hazmat suit, but I still have to do that if I'm vaccinated as well.

I'm thinking if you regularly work with really vulnerable people. It seems irresponsible to not do so in those circumstances. How would you feel if you got covid, you were fine, but you spread it to a few weak and vulnerable people its your job to take care of?

That's pretty much what comes to mind.

I guess also if you've been treating your body like a garbage dump your entire life and you will soon reap what you've been sowing.

I do plenty to take care of my immune system. I do not feel any need to have this vaccine. The only thing that would make me get it is if they start requiring it for travel.

The vaccines have only been tested on whether or not the subject develops symptoms. Nobody knows if they stop transmission or not. If you have the vaccine, you still have to mask up and keep your distance.

It’s the only reason imo. If you’re a healthy young person, there’s no reason to take the vaccine.

Three reasons: 1) you reduce your risk of contracting the virus 2) if you still contract the virus you reduce your risk of developing serious and/or long-lasting symptoms 3) you reduce the risk of passing it to others. Whether or not you believe that the case and death numbers are inflated or inaccurately reported, the virus is real and it has killed people. However, it does matter which vaccine you get. The mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) are a new technology, but after tens of millions of doses we have a large data set that shows they have fewer side effects and are more effective than the old style vaccines (Astra Zeneca and J&J).

The J&J and Astra Zeneca vaccines are a different discussion because of their reduced efficacy and higher inducement of side effects. They are only effective at preventing more severe symptoms and not sufficiently effective at preventing infection and therefore at preventing transmission. If we need 70%+ vaccinated to gain herd immunity the J&J and AZ vaccines are not effective enough.
