Only been to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

I’d move to Austria in a heartbeat. Specifically Innsbruck. I felt like I was in a dream the entire time. I can’t even look at the pictures I took of that place because it makes me sad I’m not there right now.

I live to hunt, fish, etc, so if I had to move somewhere it would actually probably be Florida, maybe even the keys. Bring the boat down and learn to ocean fish like crazy.

Then find a way to come back here for a month or two in the fall and trap and hunt.

I could see that working out.

Exactly. I don’t blame them one bit. Always smdh at the foreigners who move here to the US and don’t speak any English while expecting others to cater to them instead in their own country, it’s disrespectful.

I love my country (Canada) but the winters are brutal and I'd prefer to spend them somewhere it's not freezing cold. My long term plan is to be able to make money from anywhere so I'd need a place with a decently low cost of living and I'd prefer casual attitudes towards things like sex and decent looking women. So Eastern Europe or Southeast Asia. Definitely Europe first.

England, although I'd be wary about Brexit, not that I completely understand the whole ordeal. But I tend to like the British and they even speak my language.

Great suggestions boyos. I really can't wait for my EU trip. Especially the nordic countries and Switzerland/Austria. I prefer the cold over humidity, that was the only thing I disliked about my trips to Asia.

Yeah not a fan of the big cities either. It doesn't feel "rustic" enough. It's like going to Thailand and only staying in bangkok, you need to branch out to the rural areas to see the real country and culture.

I completely agree. I thought it was common sense when going to another country to learn their cultures and respect it? Isn't that part of the reason to travel in the first place?

The real tea is if your UK / Can / Australian / Etc - you don't necessarily need any European passport. You can draft around on a visa exempt or get a residency permit.
Yeah I remember hearing about that. I also could have sworn Malta had something for 250k a decade ago but currently says 600k euros so I must have been tripping.

Thanks for the info about the visa info/residency permit with a Canadian passport.
Thread title was poorly worded, probably should have just put "if you had to relocate where would you go?"

I love Canada aswell, it's my backyard and there are plenty of places I have yet to explore here but I don't know why, I still have the urge to escape lol.

The air is absolutely fantastic here. It was the first thing stepping off the plane that reminded me how great this country is after my trip from Asia.

Tuscany is definitely on the itinerary. It is a very high priority to walk down the orcia valley wheat fields like Maximus did in the GOAT movie. DED ****ING SRS

USA

I'm already counting down the seconds until I can retire and spend 5 months a year in Florida becoming one of the snowbirds everybody hates.

Runner up would be Australia.

The experience of social acceptance is pretty much the same anywhere I've been. I've socialized with groups from various places. For me there is some initial rejection, then eventually some kind of celebratory acceptance and what feels like fame when I am seen as one of "their own". It's very nice. It's much harder to attempt to socially control and repress someone (from telling the truth for example) if there are a number of different social circles that one belongs to. Even if one or two groups is infiltrated, attempts at total domination are confounded if one has support from a variety of different groups.
