He took the kid out of his misery.

The guy didn't come from a wealthy family and would probably have to wage slave for the rest of his life.
He did him a favor to be honest

Pure accident like a car crash or a kid chasing a ball into the street, probably after enough time has passed?

In the case of the guy in the OP? I'd probably try to kill him right there in the courtroom

I don't know what's worse, idiots who forgive a heinous murder or the people applauding it like it's so form of higher tier thinking.

Accidental death I would have the capacity to forgive with time but something like a stabbing? ROFL, you're a piece of parent who didn't care about your child if you could forgive that.

The youtube comment section after a brief glance proves further more I was born too soon.

forgiving the person who murdered your kid makes you a good man? thats the ultimate betrayal to your child. imo it makes you a piece of ****.

if a man walked up and slapped your wife on the ass and then said “sorry bro” would you forgive him? why not? thats a far lesser offense than murder.

imagine being done so wrong and then your father just forgives the person.

Dunno, really depends on circumstance to make even a wild assessment. Any form of murder = no, unintentional killing when kid ****ed up(running across a road etc) = yes, Intentional killing when kid was being a dick = hard to say

No, and even after seeking and getting vengeance, I still wouldn’t be able to.

On the inability to forgive, it would be something that I would have to take up with Christ when my time comes.

The only way that scenario could even be possible for me would be if it was some kind of accident and the guy was completely sober. Even then, that’s just conjecture. I’m not a father so I can’t say for certain how I’d react. I can only imagine.

Other than something like that though, hell no.

I have 5 kids and completely understand the sentiment.

That said, forgiveness is about you, not the other person. Holding on to anger and hate doesn't hurt them nearly as much as you and I can understand people not wanting to carry that burden. I don't know if I could do it, and hope to never find out.

God forgives... I dont

If one of my children's life is deliberately taken by the hand of another I would have zero issues returning the favor. Any parent will understand this 100%

Most of us have never been, nor will we ever, the in the situation. It’s difficult to tell what one would do given enough time to reflect on the events. Resentment, hatred, anger... remember that these are pathway to the Darkside. I realize what this man has done, but there is still some thing to be said about “love thy enemy“. It’s not about your enemy, it’s about you and the world you create around yourself. These emotions can create your own living hell.

Instead of devils advocate, Maybe we should start playing Jesus’ advocate
