Im stronger than most of them when I was in university yet I cant claim Id be in the NFL. there's a reason why powerlifters and bodybuilders arent drafted into any major sport
take any team and make them faster and they're better. most RB are midgets now that run 10 sec 100m or 4.2 40. OL isn't even important if the QB is fast lamar jackson is a textbook example

Lifting as a sport is something else entirely. A lot of these athletes are using steroids or other drugs as well.
There is nuance, it's not all one thing or another.
Beans. Cleans. Gasoline.

basketball, football, hockey, baseball. look at the stats on size of the athletes. they're getting skinnier by the year
size and strength peaked in the 90s- early 2000s now they realize fast hyper athletic *******s win championships. not a slow bloated gymcel gassed out every play

Exactly how much experience do you have coaching strength training for football programs?
Be specific please

I can't believe someone said they just take celltech and practice. that's the most absurd schit i've ever read. Have you seen a NFL caliber tightend? fuk's sake.
What IS true is that the vast majority of their size is already accumulated from high school, and college strength programs, so a lot of NFL lifting is just dialed away from "mass/strength" gains and tailored more toward explosive performance. Caveats being life long gymrats James Harrison, Ray Lewis, etc.

Because American football is primarily about power/speed (except QB) - You can make up for lacking it with skill and certain positions are more forgiving than others, but what I mean by primarily is that it seems there’s a minimum requirement of power/speed that if you don’t meet these, you will get run through even if your skill is high… hense olympic lifting etc. helps with this.
Real Madrid, Miami Heat, New York Jets.
