Going to work, making my company money, being on their schedule, having to ask permission for days off, having to explain why I cannot make it to work, being guilted when you take a day off ....fukking sucks. Theres a reason it's called wage slaving. To me both sides (working or SAH parent) give up a lot of autonomy, it's just the other side seems greener. I'd trade away my freedom to spend my own earnings for teaching my boy mathematics personally in a heartbeat. At least my "work" would contribute to my progeny rather than some multinational corporation. Maybe I have too rosy of a view with regards to dealing with my kids all day tho haha.

There's nothing enticing about coming home to a middle aged manbaby who barely acknowledges you as a person (and just loves the idea of you), then catering to their every whim while almost none of your emotional desires are cared for.

A lot of it is societal conditioning. For 30+ years now, western society has pushed the idea that a woman opting to be a stay at home mother over being a wagecel like her husband is a bad thing. Because she's supposedly being held down by "the patriarchy" and chit like that. People generally don't respect it as a choice of the woman herself unless the guy is either rich as hell, or if some crazy chit happens like they have unexpected triplets instead of one kid once, and she ends up staying home with them because the costs of putting them in daycare would be insane.

Then there are more practical reasons. Unless a woman is okay with living a semi-poverty lifestyle off spousal maintanence/child support payments and government assistance/some crappy minimum wage job in the event they get divorced, she won't want to risk being a low-skilled/minimal experience worker. Unless the guy is so loaded she'll be set just off of his payments alone.

Also, prices have jumped so much that couples/families living off one income have to sacrifice a LOT in order to make it work. Most people are not willing to live within the means of one income, even if it'd still be pretty decent. I own a house that could very comfortably provide living space for a family of 6+, and get chit on for not having more by my married coworkers. Nope, they gotta have the most expensive house a bank will loan them money for based on both of their incomes, a couple boats, kayaks, morotorcycles, 3 or 4 cars/trucks between two people, a cabin they use once or twice a year, multiple expeneive vacations a year, etc. A great deal of people are not willing to make sacrifices on any of that just for the sake of having more money on hand as they get older, let alone having less so they can afford to live off one income lol.

Probably my favorite thing to do is be on my homestead assuming the role of 'home maker' dead fkn srs. I work in the city a few days a week, but apart from that, I'm the one at home taking care of the property and cooking all our meals, etc. If you have a nice property like a small farm, there's a lot to do as a 'house wife.' Would probably wanna hang myself if I lived in the city in a condo and the only 'house wife' duties would be cleaning the schit stains out of the toilet bowl and swiffering.

I don't think my wife has ever been shamed for being a stay at home mom. I'm curious now I'll have to ask her. We live in a rural area and, if I had to guess, stay at home moms are more common than working moms. My wife also doesn't spend much time on social media.

I dream of the American dream where I'm able to provide for my wife and kids to live comfortably in a nice house. Traditional is still the best way to live life, only reason it didn't work in the long run is because of degens: cheaters/alcoholics/abuse -> divorce etc, slobs-> not able to provide / take care of the kids and house, low t-> no respect

Society, wokism, feminism, and social media has driven it into women's skulls that it somehow makes them less of a person to be content raising a family and keeping a home.

Women's biology doesn't change that fast though and it has created serious mental issues for a lot of women.

It is really frustrating when these radical feminists shame women that choose to stay at home and take care of their families. They're not any lesser for it. George Carlin once asked, what's the alternative for feminists? To wear men's clothes and go to work emulating all the worst behaviours of men?
