I worked for a family owned business back in the early 90s. Twice IIRC there was some kind of "computer problem" with printing the payroll checks so payroll went out late. Guy who dealt with their computers didn't have a poker face for chit. IMO they didn't have the cash in the bank to cover payroll.

Companies have been taking the wrong approach to this problem.

Step 1 is now and has always been to plan on having your data destroyed and/or compromised.
Step 2 is trying to prevent it from happening.

The reason step 1 is far more important is that it takes into account ALL potential threats. It makes no difference how the data is destroyed, you are prepared to restore it. I makes no difference what data is stolen, its raw form is always impossible to use.

Step 2 is an almost impossible task because you are attempting to counter an ever changing adversary.

Step 1 is a gigantic PITA and kind of expensive though and this is why you see companies getting hit with ransomware attacks constantly.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.

Back up hard drives of his important data?
What should he do with his money that is sitting in, say, Bank of America?
Obviously he can store food, water, guns.

The terrifying part about the cyber attacks is that the conspiracy is infinitely more plausible.

If you were sitting on a dozen 0-day exploits there would be absolutely no way for anyone to know this. If you leaked them onto the dark-web there would be absolutely no way to trace where they came from.

The conspiracy would be very simple:

step 1: research and engineer multiple 0-day exploits that allow for remote code execution
step 2: predict a global cyber attack
step 3: leak the exploits to the dark-web

The people doing the exploit research wouldn't even know what the exploits would be used for. It is actually more likely that by definition they never know what they will be used for, the whole "need to know" protocol.

Interesting...found a Reddit post of a video posted 3 days ago that showed this map before ******** experienced downtime.

Apparently it showed a massive attack from China. Youtube deleted the video calling it spam. Researched some more. Found that youtube terminated the account of the poster over posting the video of the potential cyber attack on ********.

If you take a look you'll get an idea of the video's content. Clearly not spam. Removing the video for spam is ridiculous enough, but banning the user too? Thoughts?
