The decisions of which way you wanna go is difficult, but all I can say is learn Python. It'll make whatever path you decide to choose exponentially easier.

I'm in CS program now but I can't help but feel like I'd be better off going to school for something that is licensed (like MD). It irks me that CS isn't a requirement to be a programmer. So many of these tech icons who programmed prolific chit and made millions don't have a CS degree.

Thanks. I've played with python for a few hours. It seems alright enough, just need some learning objectives or something to get me motivated. That's what I'm looking to school for

Yeah a degree's not technically required but for someone like me it's probably the best way to learn. I didn't learn it when I was a kid so learning it with structure from a Uni would probably help. Boot-camps have questionable payoff in terms of landing a job and you might not get the fundamental theories down imo

If you want to stop at a 4 year education and have the brains for it, not much tops a CS degree.

You will likely start around $80k and will ultimately be capped around $130k-150k/year in most places in the US.

If you don't mind living in some liberal hellhole, double those numbers above, although starting salary will likely be $100k-$110k.

If you want more than that, you'll have to go into management, which is where I'm at right now. It's not for everyone.

Try building something and see how you like it. You'll either get sucked in and lose track of time figuring your way through or "say fuk this chit". This is the best way to know, being code-cel seems to require a certain personality and isn't for everyone.

What's a good way to get a feel for it? I'm hoping in the basic core classes I'll get exposed to different areas then can choose which area to specialize in
