Delivery is actually a underpaid service....i've always thought that pre-app days. You had Dominos delivering 8 miles away (by force of their employer) to a no-tipper meaning that you would get around $2 for that delivery. Of course you get paid for the hourly wage but even with their is a lot of risk involved (and cost).

EDIT: You are not paying for the delivery ...you are paying for something you do not want/can't do at that moment cuzza traffic, wanking, etc. A 10 mile delivery straight up takes a half an hour to get & deliver to you. So you gotta count not only getting it to you ...but going to the restaurant to get the food.

How the fk are these apps charging so many extra fees but expect the buyers to still tip?

When I used uber/door etc in NA everything would come to nearly double the cost of your original food yet they want another 15-30% tip? da fuq

All these delivery apps in other countries charge less in fees yet no one tips and no drivers complain so something else needs to change

Or do they not get paid and just live off the tip? How is that even legal then?

Some backwards kind of **** you have over there. Here, people work for a food service, drive the service's car to deliver the food (or using a bike or whatever) and get paid.

Edit: BTW, we do pay "a lot" to get the food delivered where I live though. I pay like 7-8 euros just for the food to be delivered the times I order something.
