A DoorDash delivery driver shared his unconventional method for encouraging people to tip in a recent TikTok video.

On Tuesday, the delivery driver, who goes by @frenchfrythug on TikTok, posted a video addressing a customer who he said didn't tip. The video — which is now no longer available to view as @frenchfrythug has set his account to private — had been viewed more than 335,000 times at the time of writing.

The DoorDash worker says in the video that when he dropped off the customer's order, he left a note that read: "If you can't afford to tip then you should go pick it up yourself. Who do you think you are to order food and have someone come and bring it to your door for FREE? FOR FREE?"

He told Insider he had worked for the food-delivery app since December. He said in an email that the customer addressed in his video was a "habitual no tipper" and that he posted the video to "make a statement."

"This behavior is clearly inappropriate and has no place on the DoorDash platform. We are looking into this incident and will take appropriate action," a spokesperson for DoorDash told Insider in a statement.

I don't mind tipping people, not one of those no tip people, but the biggest thing I hate about these people is how entitled they are. The whole point of tip is so you earn your money, not so they give it to you because you think so.

Alot of these are popping up lately. If you look at the comments he's getting shot down hard, nobody cares because everybody knows these drivers can be extremely selective. The driver knows exactly the tip amount, the amount doordash will pay and the distance they will have to drive. This guy is playing the victim card and nobody is falling for it - get a real job or only take deliveries that pay. Boohoo you chose a no tip and to drive 10 miles for a $5 doordash payout.

The guy said she is a habitual no tipper? So why you keep delivering to her if she no tips. I think door dash already got rid of the option where you can alter tips to lower it during delivery now you can only increase tips.

Doordashers have the right to reject deliveries

However!

If you’re lazy enough to use these delivery services, then you should tip. Especially with gas prices through the roof they’re barely making a living. If you’re too poor to tip then get your own food cheap azz mofo. Doordashers should just reject these peeps and not provide them service. I always make sure I tip double or triple the amount I spent.

there was that one story about the woman who delivered for doordash, woman she delivered to put in a complaint she never got her food (got a refund), doordash driver confronts the woman, woman won't admit on-camera that she did receive her food, broadcasting what an unscrupulous bitch she is.

But at the end of the story doordash accepted the woman getting her refund and fired the doordash driver. I'm sure this croc-wearing knuckle-dragger will get fired as well.

The notes cringe but as a person who’s never even used door dash or any other delivery other than pizza, they are doing a service. They’re bringing you food from a place that you’re too lazy or drunk to go get yourself. That’s providing a service. Imo if they do it correctly why wouldn’t you tip/=pay them?
