Yeah, you mentioned the exact years aswell, so you're not just agreeing for the sake of it to create conversation. I'm glad there are other people thinking similar stuff.

I had this conversation with my brother who now works in medicine. 10 years ago he had gelled up spiked hair, 8 pack, aviators etc. Somehow he was completely oblivious despite having that kind of past. Kind of crazy to think about.


I swear people just forget their entire upbringings and just unintentionally not have a clue on anything.

This seemed to happen right around mid-late 2012 though. I can't find any evidence of this nihilism in pop culture before mid 2012 when CERN found the higgs boson. It was like 99.99999% positive/uplifting stuff unless you go back to the early 2000's or early 90's when Grunge and Numetal ruled. But i don't think that music was nihilistic or demonic. It was just kind of depressing. Even songs like In the End are classics. It was just considered a good song until later people started to actually see the lyrics differently after Chester died. The Imagine Dragons stuff is just legit demonic. They even have a song called Demons which is nihilistic af.

True, but remember the LHC at CERN began operating in September 2008 meaning they could have been smashing particles to find the high boson since then. 111 days between then and the housing market crash on 12/30/08. Coincidental if you know anything about the significance of numbers. Seems like the 2000s were defined by 11 rituals (since the number 2 is actually an inverse 11)

So really, if you base your theory on the Higgs boson you have to take into account that its experimentation could have started in 2008

Yeah, that's the thing see, high budgets and whatever shouldn't have a correlation with how well a show does. Fresh Prince of Belaires studio didn't even have a roof lol, and everyone loved that show.

Streaming destroyed Cable Network TV. Netflix started the tsunami wave of streaming that killed cable TV networks now literally every network left is scrambling to start their own streaming service and lock in exclusive series and movies. Plus people got cheap and just cut out everything except Internet service. No money = low budget crap cable network shows. YouTube also aided in destroying cable TV.

Well I think it's more that a really good script will attract a high production value - a lot of high production value shows also suck. Mr Inbetween is probably my favorite low budget show, really underrated aussie crime show. A bit like The Sopranos but more about a lone hitman than a big mafia family.

Yeah, all that stuff happened in the past few years aswell. At this rate, cable would be abandoned somewhere in the 2020's.

Such a shame, pumping out billions of shows should be amazing, but they all suck. Pre 2011 TV just nailed everything. Top Gear changed to that Amazon crap. Ahhhhh.

Good scripts are impossible to come by without unintentionally plagiarising, not to mention the current unmasculine culture. Movies are a good example, I remember 1 of Paris Hiltons movies going straight to DVD despite a huge budget. That was old epic culture aswell lol.

Aussie shows, I just watched H2o just add water again. Pretty awesome. Don't know any other Australian shows.

I dunno man, I'm pretty laid back when it comes to TV. The show I mentioned was about mermaids and I can switch it to Jackass/Mma in an instant and still be alright watching it.

I just hate newer shows because of the "copy and paste but with different characters". Kind of the reason for why I stopped playing video games years ago.
