What happened to TV??
IN SHORT: TV ran out of ideas over 8 years ago. Just recycled concepts whilst trying not to upset anyone. Imagine old Jackass releasing in 2021, there'd be uproars the second Steve-o stapled his buttcheeks together.
(I don't watch reality stuff) Take a look at 2009 Jersey Shore vs 2020 reality show equivalent. Jersey Shore people looked badass, somewhat fresh ideas aswell. 2020 reality shows are just recycled with plain boring fragile people which is pathetic to watch. (Men lost their 90% of their testosterone, and Women lost their awesome feminine characteristics and got boring ie, pink stuff, finding everything funny, liking toy shops, 3 hour effort hair-sprayed infested unique haircuts etc)
I guess it's down to the individual person on whether or not something is ridiculous. But, come on. Douchey guy on roids with 2009 style vs 25%+ bf, showing ankles, average social media guy. I'm fairly sure that most of TV shows before perceived the 2009 guy as cool as ****.
That's the way it was when I was growing up, on TV shows most of the these personas were depicted as such, mainly US shows and you can definitely see how it affected the peoples cultures/designs.
Badass masculine wrestlers have disappeared. WSM competitors don't look cool anymore. (Mariusz Pudzianowski 2002 with his arm ring and epic shades at 7%bf, looked epic) Have you seen the stuff that replaced Drake and Josh, ICarly, Hannah Montana, Spongebob and other stuff? Kids TV channels are gone. They just do reruns of the 2007-2013 shows forever. Any new shows get filtered out super quick.
Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network etc, all disappeared. They tried to comeback, but youngsters are more content with youtube videos and crap on their phones (phones mind lol). It's insane that those shows ended like 9-14 years ago.
To enlighten you on current TV channels like on "Sky" or "Freeview Channels", it's pretty far gone. Since 2013, TV shows have just used old concepts and re-used it with different characters. (It's kind of hard to come up with new ideas in all fairness, which explains the crapness of current shows, there aren't many ideas left).
But yeah, pre 2013 TV shows were epic, now they're just stupid and fragile, requiring billion dollar budgets, A-list celebrities, fancy special effects and whatever.

There are a ton of other shows to compare ofcourse, but I'm not listing billions here, just a few genres, so yeah.
You'll then get people saying, "Ohhh, but I like that show". Not the point at all.

Yeah there are no more family shows. No good cartoons. Every show pushing some kind of liberal/degenerate/identity politics agenda. News is negative. No epic shows like Jackass or Jersey Shore. That wouldn't be allowed now because it would offend people. Movies are also boring now. The last good movies came out around the late 2000's imo.

Exactly that, people just blew stuff off, not a big deal. It's easy to make a big deal out of that, but, it's clear it wasn't intended to be malicious. (His tone, behaviour etc)

It's affected movies aswell, I remember the spice of watching the trailers and getting excited before. Not even phased by the "fancy explosions" and crap in movies now.

Advertisements on TV have changed a lot aswell. They're so superficial to not upset anyone, they also look really feminine for some reason. The prime purpose of the advert has just gone out the window lol. They're like current MTV, super gay/unmasculine.
Look at this old advert. So much ideas involved, not a gay aura, not trying to push anything creepy, just trying to push their company's idea and that was it.

Anyways, I watched random episodes from the first 2 seasons, and it was alright. But they took it off TV, so whatever. (Only watched it cos I was bored)
Again, that show was from 2005, very old and if there are new episodes, I'm sure they definitely aren't as good.

But on the other side we have shows like Ozark, Mr Inbetween, Vikings, The Punisher (rip), The Expanse, Get Shorty, Barry, Cobra Kai and tons of others that haven't gone full woke and thus are highly popular.

Summer 2007 I disconnected over the air TV.
By that time they were working the phàg agenda pretty heavy and chopping shows down so they could stick in more commercials.
Joined the VHS / DVD crew at that point.

However, 2013 was just cliff dive. No idea what happened there.
It's weird how that all happened, like, there are billions of shows now, but they all bother me with their gayness/weird aura lol. I skimmed past a show recently, it was ridiculous. The implementation of using Iphones and whatever on TV just looks so stupid.

yeah TV for what I watched peaked around 2009-2012. all the good shows I use to watch religiously stopped being produced right around 2012 (srs). something definitely happened around then, and you can say the 2008 housing collapse changed the world, but I think there was more to it than economics.
it's weird, but the last time I feel like the world was "real" and positive energy was the norm was around 2011
