Nice lift, OP.

Hoping to hit 570/440/740 at a meet in November at 220. Also want to do a strongman comp in the summer and strict press 275 (best is 255).

Very nice

Feel like I'll never bench 3 plates without gear, stuck in 2-3 plate purgatory

More immediate goal is a 1 and a half plate military press

Mirin OP and y’all ITT. For first time in like a decade been struggling with consistency and motivation. Excuses etc but these 2 young kids wearing me out neither sleep good. Got to get back into high gear ASAP. Diet been suspect to because I just cook chit kids will eat. Enough bull chit been on my mind for awhile time to get that diet in check and proper intensity.

Nice going OP . 315 was my goal but never made it , and now the tendonitis thingy.
My best bench was in my mid forties . Did 225 for 9 , then tried a 315 and couldn’t get it .
I think I burnt myself warming up , but I just felt especially strong that day and wanted to try .
I can’t believe how heavy 315 feels just getting it off the rack

Yeah, for a clean 315 you are needing a clean and controlled 225x15 or so. Right now I can barely do half of that lol

Good job and good luck on your bench!

This year my goal in the gym is to give more time to my body to heal properly. Especially my left elbow and left shoulder.

With no more non-muscle pain, I'd enjoy my workout more.

That's the plan.

405lb+ bench is ridiculous

almost everyone I know who can do that natural has top 1% genetics

I know one guy with 500lb bench and claims natural. genetic freak and LB for a D1 school temporarily

A decade+ ago I benched 315 for 3-4 reps; that's a very good weight if natty.

I don't go over 225 now, and db press 100's.

Late 30's so don't lift for numbers anymore.

Gdjm op, mirin hard.

How long did it took you to get from 225x8 to 315x1? And did you upped the frequency on Bench? A lot of strong benchers only yell ‘to Bench more u have to Bench more’ lol.

Benched 225x8 last week fuaaa

Wait... you get 225 for 8 reps but somehow you bench 315? How the **** is that supposed to work?

I googled some thing that claimed it was 9-10 reps of 225 should get you to 315 , but as you mentioned it’s not even close .
I think I could have gotten close to 300 though

iirc I used to clear 20/22 reps of 225 and 3/4 on 315.
