Feels bad, man.
I've been there.
It'll get better.
Get a nice photo of him printed out, frame it, and put it on your wall where you'll see it everyday, and he'll always be with you.

Fellow Boxer dad here bro, all up in my feels.

Akc female who turned 8 in March. She’s on pills for incontinence and has anxiety that causes her to chug water until it’s gone but outside of that she’s still doing alright. Definitely getting up there and I worry for her at times but she’s had an awesome life for sure, just like you gave your boyo!
Have some greens and focus on the good times man. God bless srs

I know those feels, OP. I volunteer at our local Humane Society and I had been working with a deaf dog the past few months. Long story short; he had to be euthanized four weeks ago when we had him to the vet and they found he had a brain tumor. I was there with him at the end and it tore me up. I paid to have him privately cremated instead of with a bunch of other dogs and just brought his cremains home this week after I had them at the shelter for a couple weeks. Still hurts cause he was a really good dog even though he couldn't hear. Miss him and he wasn't even mine. I know what you're going through man. Take care.

I'm so sorry for your loss man.
I lost my Afghan hound girl in July, she was just about to turn 15 and was my once in a lifetime dog and she really never left my side, she was very special. It broke my heart and honestly 3 months later i'm still not close to normal, I break down at some point most days (often when i walk past the little memorial i made for her, not too unlike yours), and it feels like i'd do literally anything to see her again (it's actually quite scary when you think about the dark things you would do to see your dog again once they're gone). I have never posted about it on misc because honestly it's too painful, but i wanted to comment and leave my condolences. The only real thing that kept me going was taking care of my other dog, and that's what you've gotta focus on for now bro. Chin up and move forward, you did what you could for him, nature is just cruel but we can't do anything about it and unfortunately it's a brute fact of life we have to accept
. But i understand your pain OP and hope it gets better, losing my girl is literally the worst thing that's ever happened in my life.
This thread is giving me too many feels fuarrrrk.

Good night sweet prince
I still remember vividly the day I put my dog down. I know the look you mean exactly.
I still remember vividly the day I put my dog down. I know the look you mean exactly.
A young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.
The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."
The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

I'm sorry, man
It's really hard. My grandparents dog, so my dog really, grew up with him and was always at my grandparents house, went a few years ago. Cried like a baby, like i only did when my grandpa died, as an adult i don't remember doing it besides those 2 very dark times.
Made a visit to the vet that day, got out crying because he was so out of it and almost didn't respond, this coming from a dog that was full of life, almost cray, and later that night they called (as i was lying in bed hopeless and thinking about everything) saying he was really weak and if we wanted to say goodbye. As i was saying to her to please end his suffering, she checked before doing it and said his heart wasn't beating no more.
One of the worse things i heard in my life and i felt guilty that my boy was alone in that time... that was the hardest part for me.
All i can say is that it gets better. Some day in the future you'll look back and remember the good. You'll miss him, but you won't feel all the sorrow.
Just sucks that they have much shorter lifes than us, it's their only flaw
