So the cop is supposed to let the pit bull bite him so that your 20/20 armchair hindsight sitting in the comfort of your home should tell him what he should've, could've done in those split seconds? Terrible judgement on his part but I don't think he should be fired. He should be put on administrative leave and be retrained. I don't think people understand how expensive it is to train just one cop.

That's why he needed retraining. I can see myself pulling out a gun if a dog just jumps out of nowhere. Unlikely, but I can see it. Most likely the event that he does something like this after training etc, is almost 0. He could be getting stabbed and not pull out the gun because of the implecations.
