Those are hills.
They were actually as tall as the Rockies once upon a time. What you see now is the result of 480 million years of erosion.

A lot of people don't know that the Scottish Highlands are part of the same mountain chain, as it's so old that it formed on Pangea

Interdasting. I didn't know that either.

It's a 5ish hour drive from bayfield to CO Springs where the closest children's hospital is. That was too far away for my wife.
Cortez seemed to have decently priced houses. Noice.

Take that back right now.

Nepal would be the cheapest by far, but then I'd be sick all the time.

Pretty sure cellphones won’t work.

Only like an hour or so from sun valley so can shave off your mountain man beard and go slam some drunk gold digger whose sugar daddy is passed out back at their condo once or twice a year during holiday season.

But day hikes with one long ski run back to your cheap ranch in Stanley is free boyo. And land is still cheap if you get far enough out there.

They do have a locksmith and some other small town basics so it’s not as crazy as some of the 4 building towns with a saloon, a tavern, a public house, and a general store get.
Love Stanley was there well in the area Yankee Fork (cool old mining area with ghost town) for a week this summer.
