Misk, recommend me a mountain place to live.

I want to live in the mountains. I am relatively young and could probably consider myself retired at this point. What country, city, or state is the cheapest place to live where I can play in the snow a lot without breaking the bank?

Is such a place possible even?

Kek, 100% DAV and a little CRSC by the time I was 34. It's about 3900 a month. Not bad I don't suppose.

And I hear that Florida's mountains are yuuuge. Will check out.

Utah. Still red despite the blue state phggts flooding into all the red states during COVID lockdowns.

Colorado is a no-go zone unless you go to the SW corner or the western slope.

Colorado is actually where I'd like to go, but the most beautiful places want like 800k for a garbage-looking house.

I was in Montana in June. I love that freaking place. Northwest Wyoming, through Northeast Idaho, on into Montana (St. Ignatius/Missoula) was great man. How do you guys not just stay in Montana and never leave?

Who says we leave?

Housing prices here aren’t much better in the popular cities. I have a 2000 sq ft townhouse I could probably get 500k for if I listed it. Anymore you have to go pretty far out, build yourself, or live where nobody else wants to to get something affordable

You might like West Virginia. You can get off the beaten path there, buy some mountain land, and build your own home. It will only be snowy in the winter, but not a whole lot of people are moving to WV because not a whole lot of people know its a bit of a hidden gem. So long as you don't need to find work there, you might find it meets your needs. That goes for other parts of the Appalachian mountains (which run much of the way up the east coast) as well.

Look at SW Colorado. Bayfield, Cortez, mancos, etc. The craziness hasn't hit there yet and places like those are definitely in the mountains. I'd live there myself but my daughter's disease mandates that we live somewhere accessible to specialist doctors so I can't. It's a 5ish hour drive from bayfield to CO Springs where the closest children's hospital is. That was too far away for my wife.

Greenwater.

Its covered in snow in the winter time, also, you can go shooting in the woods there too.

It's just a fantasy which you won't follow through on so let's say Nepal where you'll ski down Mt Everest.

Bruh the east coast doesn’t have mountains.

Yeah sawtooths are one of my favorite mountain range.

Pretty sure cellphones won’t work.

Only like an hour or so from sun valley so can shave off your mountain man beard and go slam some drunk gold digger whose sugar daddy is passed out back at their condo once or twice a year during holiday season.

But day hikes with one long ski run back to your cheap ranch in Stanley is free boyo. And land is still cheap if you get far enough out there.

They do have a locksmith and some other small town basics so it’s not as crazy as some of the 4 building towns with a saloon, a tavern, a public house, and a general store get.
