Like everyone else said if they don't have day one exclusives available it's DOA.

If they just copy what Microsoft is doing I'll purchase it.

1. Day one exclusive releases
2. FPS and resolution boosts to old games (Bloodbourne I'm lookin at you)

Added benefit: being able to play on PC. Probably won't happen and doesn't matter to me since I'm not a computer nerd but they'll miss a large customer base.

Hoping they do the two steps above because competition is great.

If Gamepass and PSPass are the two behemoth sub services I could see them competing on who will drop day one multiplats on their sub service. THAT would be cool.

I mean they clearly aren't going to offer day 1 exclusives without it being more expensive in which people will bitch about. Sony is at a disadvantage in doing this because they will be compared to GamePass for not offering day 1 exclusives or charging too much. I am sure they hope to mitigate this somewhat with their tiered approach but we undoubtedly see MS fanboys criticize it in comparison.

Xbox won the 360 vs PS3 generation though.

Details on Spartacus may still not be finalized, but documentation reviewed by Bloomberg outlines a service with three tiers. The first would include existing PlayStation Plus benefits. The second would offer a large catalog of PlayStation 4 and, eventually, PlayStation 5 games. The third tier would add extended demos, game streaming and a library of classic PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games. A representative for PlayStation didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
I have a Series X and GamePass Ultimate. For the money I spent, I already it made it back with brand new AAA titles in Forza 5 and Halo Infinites Campaign. For me, the only way I was shelling out money for GamePass is if I got the value back in the form of a game. A year of Xbox Live costs $60, and then a game nowadays retails for $60-$70. So getting 2 new AAA games in a year is your money back, everything else is icing on the cake. If Sony plans to release their next exclusive on PS+, then great, that's competition and that's a huge win for Playstation. But if they aren't going to do that, then this doesn't make sense at all. For me, a mouth breathing Xbox-cel, the way I'm understanding this is they'll offer you their games once they reach a certain point, kind of like how Marvel Movies release on Disney+ after X amount of time in theaters.

Xbox already has this, and it works wonders. But for Playstation, it doesn't seem to be worth the value to me, unless your sole purpose is playing the older exclusives on your Playstation. GamePass is fun, but I'm not clamoring to play older games when brand new titles are out. They are more like filler inbetween major games, and with this structure, you're getting the opposite. Getting major games as a filler to ultimately wait until the next game becomes a filler too. Almost like you're going to play every game after it's already been out, been played, and moved on from.

Curious to see what they end up releasing, but Xbox can't be "beat" unless Playstation releases their exclusives Day 1 like Xbox. Anything else they throw in is just a lesser version in my opinion. If Playstation released Ratchet and Clank, TLOU2, and GoT on this service day one? Would be a massive killer to GamePass, but I don't think Sony can afford it. Xbox took on a huge loss getting their GamePass up and running, which again, I don't think Sony can do.

"Because the thing about repairing, maintaining, and cleaning is it’s not an adventure. There’s no way to do it so wrong you might die. It’s just work. And the bottom line is, some people are okay going to work, and some people … well, some people would rather die. Each of us gets to choose.”
