They want minimum wage to be $25 and their logic is that they're stupid enough to spend their excess money on expensive food, electronics etc. So businesses are also getting more money from the higher spending.

Most Western countries have been heading that route for a while but all the lockdowns sped up the transition. Smart/hardworking people spent more time at home and thought of ways to increase their income/take advantage of the situation.

Plebs are glad they work less and wish they'll get paid to do nothing at home for as long as possible.

Covid (accidentaly) taught everyone how to be frugal AF. No vacation, no bar tabs, no concerts, no restaurants, no filling up your car with gas.....

If you have no bills, why tf would you put in a 40 hour week?

We live in the most efficient time of the human race, and people were just wasting it on stupid ass chit every day. Covid put an end to that, and I won't be surprised if a lot of folks never go back.

It is really crazy, but when you think about it very true that Price's law is a factor in almost everything. Work and wealth both scale exponentially vs linearly.

Wage cucks and NEETs are really one in the same. They both look to a system to solve their life sustainment issue. Wage cucks look to big papa corporate. NEETs look to a communist government.

The real answer is: You need to work, but you don't need to make someone else rich. Work for yourself.

Easier said than done, but I did it for 12 years and loved every fuarking minute of it. Ironically, the government put me out of business(srs). I've had to return to wage cucking, but am planning my escape back to self-employment.

The golden era of working at a job and making a real living lasted all of 40-50 years or so.

We are back to pre ww2 Industrial Age labor where people make enough to survive and get some nice creature comforts sometimes. The only careers that pay well are high skill in demand jobs. Otherwise you need to start your own business. The only difference between now and 70 years ago is that it’s WAY easier to start a business than it used to be. Anyone who thinks you’re going to get a job as a teacher or work at the grocery store your whole life and buy a house and retire early is mentally retarded.

The only other option is move to a developing country, and live without all the modern day conveniences 1st worlders are accustomed to. You’ll probably be able to buy a house and retire early and then tell your grandchildren how they just need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

My plan is to pay off debts to reduce my monthly expenses significantly. Then decide if I want to keep working a higher income job to save/invest aggressively or perhaps find a lowkey job that is chill/more tolerable. Burnout in my line of work is fairly high, but if I can potentially hop up into the corporate world I might have the best of both worlds

Either way I've boosted my savings significantly over the past 2 years. I've got like 5 or 6 years worth of savings presuming I don't have a long hospital stay.

I have a lot of respect for people who do what are considered "lower tier" jobs. I wish the US was more like Japanese who teach their children to show respect to their janitors and people who do important jobs even though they aren't well compensated.

That said no reason to bish about low wages when its a free country and there are plenty of decent paying jobs rn...

those are the same low life trash that complain about uber not giving them healthcare and chit. um you are 45 years old with no skills and cant offer employers anything than being a warm body. wtf have you done your entire life to not become an expert in anything after 20+ years of work history. I dont care if you are an expert in fixing commercial kitchen equipment for restaurants and bakeries, atleast its a fuking skill that someone needs.

I have gone through that sub and i dont know if some of those guys are lying but everyone there seems to give in their 2 weeks notice and lands a job that pays double lol. Also I think 90% of it is filled with people working as cashiers or in trades and are tired of their jobs so they can quit on the spot and get another similar job.

Also lets be honest, you can shout and scream and quit the job for a brief moment of time until your savings run out. But what will you do after that? Its better to brush up on your skills and get a higher paying job or start a business(which is not easy) or be homeless
