Here in Florida I think it's more loosey-goosey. It's prob more structured with union involved. Which I think it typically is up north

In Florida you don't have to get your journeyman for masters. You can just get your masters straight but it cost a few g's plus you have to have insurance or something

At my place, NONE of the "leads" had a journeyman. I planned on doing so anyways. But I tried to find out whether they were too stupid to pass the test, whether they were being legit, or whether the owner from where I was at convinced them it wasn't necessary. To possibly keep them lower paid

But I honestly think they were too fuking stupid. Except maybe 1 guy. But I had heard a guy who'd been there for like 30 years didn't pass it twice

So at my place it seemed kind of unstructured the way they were trained and it was a "feel" thing and you'd slowly start to take on more. So eventually, yea, you'd become a "journeyman" and were still learning

But here in Florida, even though those guys had 20 years on me I don't think technically they had any distinction beyond me other than time. No official designation or set title

We were both in the same echelon officially

But yea maybe after a year or two of being a "journeyman" you'd be so familiar with all of the stuff that you'd have learned everything
