I will have about half of it by the time I need to pay.

I will just drop the rest on a big ol line of credit I have.

Unless I can find a private individual, those can be only 50-60k. The tough part is finding that person. You can find them through social media, but my wife doesn't do social media, so its all me.

i also know that there is something that works well (generally) about having a woman and a man look after a kid.

I know there is so much nurturing skills i would completely lack that my wife is great with.

And my wife lacks a lot of the hard and soft skills that I might have. Its a complementary thing.

This was a discussion point like 15-25 years ago, in that era. Conservatives rolled over, pro gay churches became the norm, everyone ignored the "slippery slope" arguments of those that could see what would happen, including myself.

We flew right past gays with kids, we are now at the point where the gov pays trannies to read books to your kids at schools with your tax dollars and teachers in public schools paid by you indoctrinating students that they need to figure out which of the 52 genders they are before puberty hits so they can hop right on hormone blockers.

The slippery slope argument is always an important one. It can be applied to gun laws, and the freedom debacle we are experiencing right now with covid regulations.

Tough question, OP.

I think it remains to be seen on a grand scale how same-sex couple will fare as parents and how the children will turn out. Probably both good and bad, like traditional couples. I don't think it's fair to automatically assume hetero>homo in child-rearing because there are definitely chit head hetero parents out there. I think a good upbringing is the best chance a kid has. And for the record I don't think the delusional, fanatic progressives are going to be best by any means.

Ultimately the surrogate should go to the best parents for the future child/children (Not saying your aren't btw). But, I see your point. Man and woman only can create children. No denying that. And the dichotomy of the sexes does have an impact on the children that is important.

I wish you and your wife the best in getting the best surrogate possible as quickly as possible.
