It's an order of magnitude cheaper than Tulum.

Oaxaca city is nearby and cool too. Even tho it's in the mainland away from the coast is a nice town with lots of culture and art. If you go there you should check it out too.

That part of the country is absurdly cheap compared to Tulum. There's a nice airport in puerto escondido so getting there is quite easy too. It's quite safe too.[/QUOTE]Throw Huatulco into that group, it has the best beaches


About Oaxaca City, it's a far drive still until the new highway is finished. It's 6 hours driving, but will be cut to two and a half hours this year when the highway is ready

as far as beaches go Aruba is probably nicer, Cura has some elevation though (like a small mountain) for hiking

for adventure I'd probably pick Barbados out of that list, never been there tho but it seems pretty dope

Yes it's quite cool. I have some expat friends living there and they love it. That new highway will be opened by summer I think. Huatulco is beautiful too but that area of the country has been ravaged by cartel wars and criminality as of lately. Wouldn't recommend it to a foreigner nowadays, hopefuly it will calm down in a couple years.

Costa Rica. Don’t be a potato and go to some lame touristy resort walled off from the world with guards only to be surrounded by fat pale bodies from flyover states eating from the buffet like pigs at a trough.

You can get some pissening mezcal in those parts

I enjoyed St. Thomas the two times I went (stayed at the Ritz). Jamaica is alright, but just felt cheap. Pacific side of Costa Rica is always great. As far as resorts go, staying in Hawaii has my vote. Perfect mix of everything, but probably more than you want to spend

I went to Tulum 3 times last year, had a blast. Trying to switch it up this year and do Costa Rica, Cartagena, and maybe somewhere on the Pacific side of Mexico, Puerto Escondido or somewhere more secluded.

just come to Miami beach. way more to to than these "resort" locations

If you go to St Maarten, make sure to visit Orient Beach. Before it got destroyed in a hurricane, Club Orient was probably my favorite place on earth.

The French food downtown is amazing. So many great restaurants on a tiny little strip.

mexico doesn't require anything but the occasional mask once in a while. have been exclusively vacationing there every 4-6 months throughout the entire shamdemic as there is limited clown world there. we prefer playa del carmen and puerto vallarta

Orient was cool. It was hoppin before the hurricane and Covid. A fun place to spend the day. Now it’s a ghost town. We went on a Sunday and there were some people but they were mostly locals. The following day it was dead. Too bad. Hopefully some day it’ll make a comeback.

Hope so man. Nothing better than waking up naked, opening the sliding glass door that opens up to the beach, walking out in the warm sun butt naked, walking along the beach without a care in the world. Dip into the warm turquoise water, not a care in the fkn world. Drinking cocktails all day, eating delicious food, no need to go anywhere else. Hopefully they figure out the insurance/ownership situation, but it may be many years if ever.
