I guess I'm getting old because my joints keep popping (no pain... yet) and I really feel sleep is just too damn important over anything else. Can't function unless I get a full night's rest, as in ~8 hours.

The only redeeming part of being an oldcel is if you only work out once a week you look better than 99.99% of people the same age.

if you are over or creeping on up 35, trt and hgh give HUGE quality of life improvements. Sure you may be knocking a few years off of the end of your life, but a losing a few years after 70, who cares.

RIP sweet joints.

I also notice now that I’ve gotten older, if I bump myself on furniture I get bruised easily. I’ll see them and wonder how the heck I got them.

Feel good, but I'm only 30 and I never abused alcohol and drugs in my 20s. Been lifting for 12 years. Started running a year and a half ago. If you don't use it, you lose it.

Anyone under 40 needs to STFU.
I've got more money now than ever and I get to quit working in like 8 years. Oh, and I get to bang the same chick in lifetime perpetuity that I've banged since I was 16.

I'm 52 and feel younger than I did in my early 40's. @40 was when I tried to get back in shape yet again, but this time I actually succeeded. Because this time I accepted it will take time and to be careful not to rush it which is why all the other times I tried, I just quit. I always did pull-ups and dips (before I got fat), but not like how I do them now. I stopped lifting weights and only do calisthenics now. I had shoulder pain, lower back pain, golfers elbow pain on both elbows.
I work on calisthenics stuff like planche, front lever, human flag (just started), handstand, back lever and L-sit. Planche looks like it'd be real bad for your shoulders and it can be if you do it wrong. I had my shoulder pain before planche and I did make the pain worse on a couple of my planche leans because I had to think about protracting and depressing the scapula a lot and a couple times I lost protraction/depression while in a deep lean and BAM! Shoulder pain got worse. Thing is, even back then I noticed on my planche training days so long as I didn't screw up, my shoulders and elbows felt better. Now I do planche leans and my scaps feel real strong for it and going full protraction/depression feels normal, don't gotta think about it.
This is what gets stressed a lot for planche; your muscles can get stronger way faster than your tendons. Which leads to people having tendon pain or worse. Gym bro lifting is about muscle size and it does work the tendons, but nowhere near what the stuff I do works tendons. I know the professional and probably even some amateur power-lifters also include tendon strengthening.
Also, a lot of the stuff I do really works the core. I have no elbow, shoulder or lower back pain and it's been that way for over a year now.
