There's a method to make fuel out of wood. Pretty neat


Good for generators with some work, but maybe not for a car.

These are excellent steps to make sure the nearest group of more than 5 people will have plenty of supplies after they raid your house which is lit up like a nightclub using your generator.

If things get to the point where your neighbors are running out of food and water the only thing that will matter is that you and your family are all proficient in home defense. You can always take your neighbors stuff if needed, or the guy across the street who doesn't cut his grass more than once a month so his yard looks like ****. Already don't like him.

Really though just keep a few supplies and live very close to a large number of trusted family members/friends with at least one that has a large property. Without a large number of people none of your preparedness will matter, and with a large number of people you can take or make whatever you need.

Open street map, I think, or some other app lets you download maps to your phone so you can use them without an internet connection.
F-droid has a collection of very useful apps that are all saved locally on your phone and don't do any spooky chit. I have the survival guide, star map, and a diary app installed.

There is an article about a person's experience surviving in a war zone in the Balkans. Extremely unlikely to happen to USbrahs, but a very interesting read:

I dunno. Never been in a situation before, but they're entertaining. A youtuber, who travels the world only to sleep in the bushes, uses the maps app.
The diary app is great and I try to use it daily. The survival manual is very extensive and I haven't even updated it in a while.
The main thing about F-droid apps is that they're not evil and won't show you any ads or spy on you, so you better be using them already if you're on android.

Just as a heads up GPS tracking on your phone works without service or internet already, and google maps lets you download areas to navigate when cell service is down so you probably don't need any extra apps since everyone has google maps already. I use it while hiking all the time, if I go off trail or find an unofficial trail its nice to be sure I can find my way back out easily. Pro tip though learn things like how to read a compass, basic land nav skills, etc... it is not very hard to do and useful even if you don't get nuked, what if you go on a hike in the backcountry and get lost? If you have a compass and know how to use it you can head whatever direction you came from and get out eventually as you'll find the road you came in on, or you can just walk in whatever direction you know is closest to civilization rather than walk around blindly.

You can make a bunker by buying an empty shipping container and burying it somewhere. People modify them all the time.
