I answered you--I said it did not matter to the same degree that it does with Ukraine, and not to mention, their memberships were in 2003 and 2004, by that point, Russia had had enough and acted as they did with next country to try and join NATO, Georgia. Somewhat irrelevant to bring this up, as I could have easily have said, "well, look at what they did to Georgia in 2008, and now Ukraine". Geography aside, you may have had a point if the order of things was 1. Georgia attempts to join NATO, Russia intervenes, 2. Latvia and Estonia join NATO, Russia does nothing, etc. Except that wasn't the case, and when they had enough of NATO expansion, they acted, and reason stands that they would oppose any bordering country's membership to NATO in a very aggressive/hostile fashion going forward.
So again, you continue to bring up red herring points that are meaningless in this case.
