Not allowed to give blood anymore, but I'm thankful to those who gave the blood they gave me during treatment. I wouldn't be alive if they hadn't.

I work in such a big company - - - 7,500 employees in just my one building alone - - - that the blood bank crew come out to us every 8 weeks and set up in a large auditorium room to collect our blood. They say that we are a "captive audience".

And if you play your cards right, and go down to donate RIGHT before they close up for the day at 4:00pm, you get to take all the "rewards" back to your office. Platters of cookies and many drinks.

I've donated at least twice this year. I'm due again. I'm on HRT so I need to donate about once a quarter to keep my red count down.

I don't. Not anymore. O+ crew, they hound me when I did. Reason: They charge for it. They charge a lot. The Red Cross is a for-profit company. I'm not saying give me a lot, but something for my time and trouble. They won't. They refuse. There have been times when they have ran out, but they still refused to entertain the idea of paying for it. They say they don't have a "system in place" to make payments. Yeah, whatever.

Donation is a scam.

I won't "donate" anymore. If you are going to sell my blood for a profit, then you are going to pay me to take it.

It was actually my doc who made me aware of their profits and the scam of donation.

I don't, but one of the theories behind why women generally live longer than men is that they bleed monthly and so prevent excess iron in the body - which is, perhaps, the reason men die younger on average. Obviously, IF true, donating blood would be a way to help mitigate that.

Mirin OP's spirit. *bow*

As for me, only a few times in my whole life.

Each time, bloodmobiles happened to be on my way.

I'll do it again if that happens.

I have the most delicious of blood.

O neg.

Last time I did it, they asked if I would like to do this thing where I can donate twice as much blood cells with a machine that separates the plasma and returns it to my body.

I did that chit and got sick as fugg for like three days.

I do not want to experience that again, but I will donate regular again.

I do it like every six months.

Be Positive blood! I donate whole blood when I can. Last time I donated I got a $10 Amazon gift card.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.
