You’re right op should have let her stab the cop a few more times and check his pulse to make sure it was a fatal stab before shooting.

Why did they need the whole task force & a dog for 1 sloot with a knife? Obviously the sloot deserved to be shot when she was about to stab the incompetent officers who fell on the floor but it should have never gotten to that point in the first place, dumbest chit i've seen in a while.

Yeah that's pretty damning but I'll assume she merely held the knife like she did for the cop, in which case the others were not threatened but shocked.

I'm not really willing to compromise on the idea that holding a weapon when you open a door is legal. It should be and it is the duty of officers to be trained to understand these situations.

but if she raised it at others....then she should have been arrested.



edit: unless she was being escorted...then she had no right to close the door and should have dropped the knife. At that point she's trespessing with a weapon and is gonna get downed.

just trying to keep all the factors out in the open

edit 2: I'm just gonna go with the escort angle. None of this makes sense with out that.

I watched this with an open mind and am not a big police supporter, but I must say, are you retarded OP? Totally justified shooting. She was insane, refused dozens of times to drop the knife, and literally stabbed one of them. I'm glad they lit her up and nothing of value was lost

EDIT: Note that I am talking about the Albert Dryden video btw. The San Diego video mentioned in the OP was definitely NOT funny and I did not laugh at that one. I saw a video earlier showing the actual stabbing itself.

That was 1991 & likely people thought he was just an eccentric old man. The funniest bit was the news reporter doing a piece to camera having been shot in the arm & bleeding everywhere-typically British. It was real-the guy died & he was sent to jail, he died a few years back-at that point he had been released on compassionate grounds to a home as his health was abysmal.
