I got determined to do something about it, and have made huge progress, but it's been really hard and a slow process since I'm still chubby.

I'm basically an alcoholic who eats instead of drinks. I recently had to got on medication called Semiglutide, which is what diabetics use, to feel too full to want to eat, so then my emotions aren't dealt with and I have to figure something else out, which has also been hard.

I agree that some people just don't care and are just lazy and gluttons, but there are those of us out there who have fighting an uphill battle all our lives.

it's crazy that people START their weight loss with gastric bypass surgery as their first goal

totally backwards

all the benefits and none of the dangers of that surgery can be had by just being in an environment where people can fast and eat clean... i really don't know why people get the surgery when they can just go to those rehab places where you're forced to exercise and eat what you're given 24/7

My theory is most fat people like food more than sex. It's understandable when people get to their +60s. But fat people that aren't seniors are just pathetic. I honestly can't even understand what a gut feels like.

To any current/former fatties: a gut is basically a ball of fat, but there is actual abdominal muscles under it, right? Does it have feeling, like if you were to punch someone's gut from the side would it hurt like punching an abdomen?

I really want to understand what fatsos experience, without being one of course.

I lost 120lbs and was morbidly obese at one point, I didn’t have any muscle underneath but that’s because I wasn’t active. I did have massive calves though from carrying my fatass for 19 years

You seem to have some good insight into how to deal with your weight situation. The fact you realize your emotional attachment to food needs to be substituted to something else is interesting.

Also you should just sleep with a bunch of wh0res at this point until you get into a relationship. Sex is only a big deal you're you're not getting it, so find a girl that will do some strange for some change. It will help in the long game.

I've been fat in the past, so I get how it happens. But I'll never let it happen again.

Recently came back from a trip and had gained like 25 pounds because I did nothing but drink and eat high calorie food for two months. Have been back for about 6 weeks now, and it's basically gone. Maybe another week or two and I'll be back into the same shape I was in.

Still though, that's the heaviest I've been since about 2014, and was getting no attention from girls and was basically invisible. People treating me with a lot less respect. Once you get used to the good life, there's no way I could go back.

It's carbs bro.

It's like ling cancer and cigarettes. You can have lung cancer and not be a smoker but you would be in the 1%. Just like you can be fat not due to carbs but it's unlikely.

Most fat people I know only lifted to get girls, once they got married and popped out a couple kids they stopped, not only because they met their biological goal but also because they don't have the time. Or even worse they were an athlete in HS and college and were use to eating 3000 calories per day, and continue to eat that amount when they sit behind a desk for 8 hours per day. Sometimes even being a weekend warrior isn't enough to keep the weight off when you get older. This is due to the natural slowing of metabolism and lower t-levels all of which aid in weight gain. They simply haven't figured out that they can't get away with eating half a gallon of icecream and still make weight a month later for wrestling try-outs like they use to.

and the absolute icing on the cake is injuries. Even if they WANT To workout, they may have a pre-existing back/shoulder/knee/ankle issue that flairs up more often than not and when it does, it takes much longer to heal itself because age.

I appreciate the idea, though.
you just need a bad break up under your belt and then you wont care about that waiting for a relationship nonsense and then whore max. you pay for it with time, attention, money, broken promises all kinds of chit in relationships.

I'll give a serious answer based on personal experience. It's a health issue in a lot of cases. I've been through periods where I'm not eating much but my weight doesn't go down. I've been through periods where I've ate a ton and my weight did go down. Sometimes I try to cut back on calories and it ****s my sleep and I have no energy. Sometimes I overeat to deal with stress.

Society is sick. Our food quality is ****. It's grown/raised in ways it never has been before. Fruits and vegetables have less nutrients than they used to, meats are composed of entirely different fat profiles than they ever have been. We sit inside on computers all day, not moving. We aren't taught how to live healthy. Food companies manufacture foods to be as addicting as possible. Our water quality sucks. All this messes up our hormones. We're bombared all day on phones, laptops, TVs with stressful political divisive agenda. This is just for starters.

No one chooses to be fat (almost no one). It takes a lot of effort to not get fat in a sick society. It's easy to not prioritize it if you've got a demanding job, kids, and want to have some social life / relaxation.

It's hard not to be fat in the USA right now.

There is no reason for a guy to have greater than a 40" waist or a woman to be larger than a US size 12 unless they have aseriousmedical condition.

People don't go to bed skinny and wake up fat, they get fatter over time. A guy can have a 34" waist and life happens to him, it goes up to 36, then 38 and 40 and if it keeps going up past that it's because he has allowed it to happen. The same goes for women.

People shouldn't have to be "in shape" but there is no excuse for them being morbidly obese.
Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!

The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.

There's some truth to this, but 36 to 40 waist is fat.

I also think it's easy to go past it without a "serious" medical condition. You can just get into a bad frame of mind and have learned helplessness due to things going on in life. Mental issues are real.

priorities change as you get older too op. all of the sudden 25 hits and people get careers. thats 10 hours a day 5 days a week that they dont have to work out. theyhave to choose what to do with the little time they have. most dont think "oh ill go to the gym" when they have kids either. vpart of the point of being in shape is being attractive. once youre married it doesnt matter much anymore.

When I first signed up here I was fat. Not like super obese but just skinny fat and doughy.

I think for me it was that I had grown up playing sports all thru high school and I didn't even need to do anything to be in great shape other then exist until I was around 20ish. I didn't really realize til one day I was like wow I look like crap this ain't gunna work for me.

I graduated in 2006, by 2010 it had been 4 years since I was playing any sports for real, drank alot at house parties and stuff. Didn't cook good meals or anything either really. Lots of McDonald's dollar menu and ate night diner visits. Just bad lifestyle choices.

I imagine fat people are the version of me that didn't sign up for this forum and just kept spiraling into bad habits. The longer you do them, the harder they become to break. I think alot of people don't know how to use the gym either and are just too afraid to go to public gyms and be judged. I had to hire a personal trainer, I really didn't know much about lifting. I played soccer and we weren't really expected to do much gym work during hs, mostly running related stuff.

Another thing is their appetite no offence to u fatties but how can you guys eat so much?

Was at a buffet and I couldn't belive my eyes, some guy had 4 full plates of food and took 9 rounds.

So his first round was basically what I had for the whole duration I was there

It's funny because moving around/walking is much harder when you are fat, so if you just eat less you can be lazy and not put as much effort into moving yourself around.
Would kick em in the nuts
