There is no set time, but I can say this and everyone is different. For us things seem to come in waves. There have been times in the past where frequency of sex was an issue (for me). But over the years, I noticed something. Sex or frequency is only important when you are not getting it, or not feeling connected. When you are in that place, you notice every day that goes by.

When things are in a good place, it is not really something you focus on as much. It was a large issue for me years back and it took a while for my wife to understand that I get a great deal of my bond with her through sex. It is not like that for her. So she used to just see it as me wanting mine so to speak. We have come to understand each other so much more in the past 5-6 years and it is really cool.

So I would say anywhere between once and 3 times a week. Most times 1-2 times. Sometimes more. If it goes more than a week, it is generally just us running in every direction at once, and not the norm. It can be hard when your teen kids are always staying up late and our only time to be with each other is later at night and we might both be tired. But the point is we have time to stay bonded. I am still turned on as hell by my wife and it is so great to be in a place where there is not stress over sex. Things just can happen on their own and after 21 years I dont have any lost interest. Sex is a great thing, but it can be a terrible thing to focus on when it is more an indicator of an underlying problem rather than the problem itself. We managed to work though it on our own without counseling, but it took a while for us to really understand where our connections with each other grew from.

Anyway, I realized my mistakes. It is one of my few regrets in life. But life is good. No need to cheat for me. I still find my wife hot as hell. Life is good man.

We both cheated when we were young. What you do when you are 16 17, 18 is not really mature and you have very little in life as a backdrop to understand what it is you are doing.

I banged a few girls in the in the early parts of our relationship. I was 17 and she was not 'putting out'. She was afraid to tell me she was a virgin. I certainly would have been a lot more understanding. But I was 17 and I would have humped a hole in a tree if given the opportunity.

As for her, we met when she was 16. After 3 years I was off at college and so was she. We were 8+ hours apart and only saw each other a few times a year. It is not that crazy that she started to think about the possibility of dating other people. The fact we were so far away, and we never saw each other, made it easier for her to avoid breaking up. Again total immaturity.

Also it was a different world. There were no cell phones. It cost real money even to talk on a phone to each other. We used to write letters (srs). I did not have a lot of money and it was still costing me $100/ month to talk a few times a week.

So we both then went on to experience life without each other, but stayed very close friends from our early 20's onward. I had a bunch of flings and a few serious relationships. My wife is not the fling type and had 3 boyfriends over this time. She has never had a one night stand.

Anyway, I am secure and actually appreciate that we had the chance to explore life. I dont know that I would have wanted my wife to only ever have been with me. We both got to experience what life had to offer and found our way back to each other.

For me, I have a very strong bond with her. I have been drawn to her in an almost intoxicating manner. I did not expect to be hit with it again in my late 20's, but even now at 49, I have a 'thing' for my wife. It makes life easy as a man to still think your wife is hot.

Looking back at the earlier times of our marriage, I would not blame her if she had cheated on me. I was a terrible husband. I was too obsessed with concurring the world. I did not give her the emotional support or attention that a husband should give. I was not out drinking or chasing girls, but my mind was always working. I did very well early on in life and thought that was my 'job'. We had a paid for 9000sqft home as our first home, I thought nothing of buying about anything. I had one of the first 200 G-wagens brought into the US when there were less than 100. I owned multiple helicopters and would take off and land at my house. I had all kinds of stuff, and my wife wanted none of it. She just wanted me to be there for her and the kids.

So we have had some rough patches and my wife has always been there for me. She has always been a beacon of guidance and strength for me. She has motivated me to be a better man, a better husband and better father than I would have ever been. I feel very lucky to have a true partner in life.

I would have been the biggest moron in the world if I ever fuked this up. So my only advice is find a person that makes you stop caring about yourself. If you do, and they are worthy, devote your life to them. There are no guarantees in anything. But a day does not go by where I dont realize how lucky I am .

Being a dad and having a daughter is pretty cool. Again, I am lucky to have a great wife who has led by example. But VERY proud of my daughter and some guy will be very lucky. As lucky as I was.

My daughter has a 4.25GPA and could do anything she wants. She was going to go pre-med, but decided she wants to be a nurse since she does not want the sacrifice for her family and kids of what being a dr would mean. First and foremost, she wants to be a mom. So nursing will allow her the flexibility to pause her career to have and raise kids..etc.

People can do what they want, but as a dad, I would have done anything I had to do to support my family so the kids had someone to raise them and not be in day care. My wife has given up her life for the kids. She was working in investments in a national bank when she left the workforce 19 years ago. Dont EVER think making the commitment to raising kids is easy. My wife worked and works way more than I do.

It takes the right girl/woman to sacrifice themselves to give to their families. Not everyone is cut out to do it, and it almost has to be a natural thing. I saw it in my wife when we were younger. She was just always so natural with kids. Kids LOVE my daughter. It is almost something magical. Really a cool thing, but again, it takes the right person.

My wife is very smart and capable. But we both decided to take very specific roles in our relationship. But I have NEVER once asserted that mine is more important than hers. It is always 'our' money and never once have I done anything to devalue what she has done. I do the opposite and make sure she knows that I know and appreciate what she has done for all of us.

Kind of a fairy tale in a way, but equal sacrifices all the way around. No egos, no pride or power struggles. Just two people taking on the world together and trying to navigate it with the singular focus on our kids. I would not have it any other way.
