Skipping rope gets my heart rate higher than any other form of cardio. Kind of hard to do at most gyms but goat exercise for home.

Yup and it's fun learning a new skill and messing around with it. 10 min of skipping rope is all you need and you get some good work in. Love it.

Watching TV on the elliptical for 1 hour at a solw pace max ristance because my knee would swell up like a grapefruit on the treadmill because I'm a genX old phaqqat ,but still get sweating like a pig crew checking in.

It's more for mindlessly burning calories and helping recovery.

Also when I go to the gym Xena warrior princess is always on back to back episodes. Hnnngg

imagine going to the gym and putting your fukking hands on the treadmill and calling it cardio

uphill walking with your hands on the treadmill at ANY point is not cardio, its just walking

yet everyday I see 99% of people grab the handles when they do "uphill walking"

just fukking lol ive done that chit too and it 100% is NOT remotely the same thing as when your hands are off

How long can you continuous skip rope? I've been doing the same but have to stop often due to bloat and calf pain.

I got it pretty good and could go for a decent amount of time. Usually go 45 seconds to a minute straight. All about technique really. I struggled a lot at first and kept messing up every 10 seconds. The calf pump is the best part.

Used to jump rope a lot but haven't now for years. Very effective, but also hard on joints (maybe overblown?). Personally hate cardio but love basketball so I try to play 3 times a week and call it good. Of course, basketball is worse for injury than any individual exercise (jumping rope, running, etc.) but I love it and can't give it up.

I've had an airbike at my house for years and used to use it regularly before I got back into playing basketball. Between my wife and I (mostly her), we wore out a schwinn airdyne and recently replaced it with a rogue echo bike. My workout on it was 20 seconds max effort followed by 1:40 rest, repeated for 5 or 6 rounds. Everything after round 3 sucks. Really good workout in 10 minutes. Echo bike was spendy but is very solid and was a great purchase. Anyway, I'd have to be a dummy to not replace my wife's preferred piece of exercise equipment.

C2 rower, sub 7 min 2k or 8000 meter+ in 30 minutes. Get to those numbers and your cardio is respectable.

if you are trying to grow your legs and do cardio simultaneously this is why uphill walking is best, only stresses the calf muscles and hamstrings

Only use stair master in the gym.

I run outside for actual cardio and fresh air. A nice trail run.

I will admit it's pretty boring, what I do is use that time to watch a Netflix series from my phone (I'm trying to get caught up on Ozarks). I can't just sit at home and watch it so I watch it while working out so I'm not just vegging out on the couch.

just saying if you do be smart about it because it does impede recovery if you do and it also places a demand on the legs muscles to focus on endurance and not adding more muscle tissue so doing it post leg day is about the dumbest thing a person can do but people do it all the time.

Yup.

From my understanding post wo cardio is about the worst you can do in terms of muscle gains.

Beforehand is better but not optimal.

Best is separate days or multiple workouts per day if one has the time, cardio in the morning, lifting later in the day.

Read some article about it many years ago on MD, something about Mtor something, something.
