Extremely boring and have to spend a lot of time to get actual benefit from it unless you do interval training. At that point use a bike or run hills.

Watching TV on the elliptical for 1 hour at a solw pace max ristance because my knee would swell up like a grapefruit on the treadmill because I'm a genX old phaqqat ,but still get sweating like a pig crew checking in.

imagine going to the gym and putting your fukking hands on the treadmill and calling it cardio
uphill walking with your hands on the treadmill at ANY point is not cardio, its just walking
yet everyday I see 99% of people grab the handles when they do "uphill walking"
just fukking lol ive done that chit too and it 100% is NOT remotely the same thing as when your hands are off

Used to jump rope a lot but haven't now for years. Very effective, but also hard on joints (maybe overblown?). Personally hate cardio but love basketball so I try to play 3 times a week and call it good. Of course, basketball is worse for injury than any individual exercise (jumping rope, running, etc.) but I love it and can't give it up.
I've had an airbike at my house for years and used to use it regularly before I got back into playing basketball. Between my wife and I (mostly her), we wore out a schwinn airdyne and recently replaced it with a rogue echo bike. My workout on it was 20 seconds max effort followed by 1:40 rest, repeated for 5 or 6 rounds. Everything after round 3 sucks. Really good workout in 10 minutes. Echo bike was spendy but is very solid and was a great purchase. Anyway, I'd have to be a dummy to not replace my wife's preferred piece of exercise equipment.

if you are trying to grow your legs and do cardio simultaneously this is why uphill walking is best, only stresses the calf muscles and hamstrings

Only use stair master in the gym.
I run outside for actual cardio and fresh air. A nice trail run.

From my understanding post wo cardio is about the worst you can do in terms of muscle gains.
Beforehand is better but not optimal.
Best is separate days or multiple workouts per day if one has the time, cardio in the morning, lifting later in the day.
Read some article about it many years ago on MD, something about Mtor something, something.
